Me hace muchísima ilusión compartir este artículo tan especial con ustedes. 🤍🇪🇨✨ Me siento profundamente agradecida de formar parte de este proyecto y de compartir estas páginas con tantos ecuatorianos talentosos que, desde distintos lugares y a través de diferentes lenguajes, mantienen viva nuestra cultura, nuestra artesanía y nuestras historias, mientras las llevan hacia nuevos caminos.

🤍 Soak’s natural dye dancing bodysuit version.

This bodysuit is part of the one piece project I have being sharing the process lately, inspired by the idea of creating a dancing dress with non stretch fabric (No PES) and natural dyes/prints.

So fun to think about it and make it, specially if you are a dancer 💃🏻 taken in New York, New York by @soakartstudioo

Natural dyes are not only here to be cute, fun, or “sustainable”—a word I prefer to replace with environmentally friendly. They are also challenging. One of the best achievements in this process was creating a black natural dye swatch on 100% silk gauze. A result that reflects the time, experimentation, and dedication behind working with natural color. by @soakartstudioo

Blending the past with the present. Natural dyes (How we started) & Up-cycling Design (where we are now).

Not everything needs a big plan behind it—sometimes you just have to follow the feeling and have fun with it.

At the end of the day it will always belong to you.

This project was made in 2023 and after 3 years of design experimentation the up-cycling process was always there without me even focusing on it, it grow as organic as possible when the "figure it out" is the way to go as a designer/student finding sources and budgeting everything by the cent.
