I’m BAAaaack! With a menu update too 💕 by @sobremesa_bread

As my family transitions to our new life in Japan, I won’t lie…smooth sailing is not how I would describe our current state. Amidst all of it I feel kind of silly for wanting to share this, but you know, I think in the hard moments choosing joy is so important. Navigating military spouse life and motherhood didn’t set me back, it all fueled the determination and passion I poured out into every bake and every dish. To my instructors and mentors @valarie_carlone_baker, @jamesbuddha and @jojorossi , I truly have no words for how grateful I am to have learned from you; I hope life has us run into each other again. Now, I get to use these skills to share this love and care with my community no matter where I am. I would say that’s pretty sweet, and reason enough to celebrate💕 by @sobremesa_bread

Hola! I’m Roxio (Roh-See-Oh) — proud Dominicana 🇩🇴, wife, mom, and the baker behind Sobremesa Bread & Pastry. 🍞🧡

I grew up in the kitchen with my Grandma, Mama Norma, who taught me to cherish our rich cultural heritage and use food as a way to show love in abundance to friends and family. I discovered my passion for all things dough at @gc.culinaryarts and now it’s time to share that love with my community.

Sobremesa is the Spanish term for the lingering moments shared at the table after a meal — connecting, laughing, and simply being with loved ones. It’s a cultural practice that perfectly embodies my values around food: deeply rooted in faith, family, and the joy of gathering around the table. 🤎

Every loaf, cookie, and pastry I bake is a reflection of those values — a celebration of heritage, gratitude, and the beauty found in honest food meant to be shared.

Welcome to my warm little corner of the world! Follow along here and watch Sobremesa grow! Don’t forget to subscribe on Hot Plate (link in bio) to keep up with the latest bakes and the next drop ✨ ’

My first bake day since baby’s arrival and I’m so thankful for everyone’s support 🥹💕 I’ve updated my website so that you can now choose your pickup time within my 11-5:30pm window! See you all next week! 🍪 by @sobremesa_bread

Hola! I’ve been very quiet these last few weeks, still very much in newborn bliss 💖 and toddler chaos 🫨, cherishing every snuggle and contact nap. I’ve been working on a few things for a bit of a menu update, and hope to start baking again soon because wow I miss the smell of bread and pastries filling my home, knowing it’s going to make my friends and neighbors smile 😊 Stay tuned! Swipe for a sneak peak at the Dulcey Banana Muffins I’ve been working on 💕 by @sobremesa_bread

Another amazing bake/ pickup day 🥰 Thank you to everyone who ordered! If you haven’t yet, next week will be my last bake for some time while we await baby’s arrival! Since it’s getting a little harder for me to move around, I’ll have a more limited menu, going live tomorrow morning 💕 See you next week! by @sobremesa_bread

Bake day is upon us and a quiet morning of baking with the aroma of pastries is so good for the soul 🥰 I can’t get over how beautiful these strudels are. House made puff pastry, blueberry jam and white chocolate goodness! I’m always working to improve my bakes week by week, even by just a little bit so you get the best each time 💕 by @sobremesa_bread

These beauties and more are available for Friday pickup! My order windows open every Saturday morning and close Wednesday evening. Alternative pickup times and potential deliveries on NAF Atsugi can be arranged. See you Friday 💕 https://sobremesa-bread.square.site by @sobremesa_bread

Stretch and folding my Jalapeño Cheddar dough. I’ll never get over how satisfying working with dough feels 🥰 #microbakery #cottagebaker #nafatsugi #sourdough by @sobremesa_bread

Finished baking for all my orders today and like a dumdum didn’t take photos of my full bake , BUT my heart is so full of gratitude for each one and here’s a little snap shot🥹 I have no words. Thank you #nafatsugi 💕 jalapeño cheddar loaves, salted toffee cookies, and blueberry strudels. And ofc TY to the hubby @al3x51dlr for packaging, promoting, and delivering orders. ILY 😘 by @sobremesa_bread

My little brother and I grew up on toaster strudels and very much looked forward to the magical moment our mom would put a box in our shopping cart. This is a little love for younger Roxio, who couldn’t possibly have known that one day she’d be able to make these bad boys herself. Blueberry strudels 💕 by @sobremesa_bread

Finally put together a menu for you! Ordering is now live for Friday Pickups 💕 https://sobremesa-bread.square.site by @sobremesa_bread
