What an ending to the 2026 South African National Championship!

@jasper_bjansen and I were invited to this event by winning the JS Challenge with our @weglide sprint point ranking among juniors. Thank you to @jonker_sailplanes for making this possible by handling my license validation, sponsoring contest fees and providing a glider. Thank you as well to @indya._ for crewing and documenting the trip.

Potchefstroom is an incredible contest site with a wonderful club and community. I am so grateful for all of the effort from the organizers and ground crew for making this such an enjoyable experience. I look forward to coming back soon! @calpolyaero taken in Potchefstroom by @socal_ale

Standard Class Nationals was tuff. We were lucky enough to get 9 days of flying with a pretty large variety of soaring conditions ranging from 19k’ cloud base to low and blue. Shoutout Michael for bringing the 10 knot climbs from Caesar Creek to New Mexico for the contest. taken in Hobbs, New Mexico by @socal_ale

Last May, @jennacooper14 @ryan_42__ and I organized and flew in the 2026 Avenal Spring Contest. We had over 22 gliders with tasks of up to 500 km in distance. Thank you to the CCSA for hosting and see you all next year! taken in Avenal, California by @socal_ale

First time flying in the Dust Devil Dash! My goal was to return to Warner Springs but I got trapped by the San Bernardino fire smoke and TFR. Had a long blue glide across the Mojave desert west of Lancaster. Also my first time talking to Socal Approach in a glider. I really enjoy the straight out flights and exploring new areas. Thank you to my parents for picking me up in Hesperia! taken in Mountain Valley Airport by @socal_ale
