📍 Timken Art Museum

Located in the heart of Balboa Park this museum like many other in Balboa park is completely free and the value is HUGE.

They have dozens of stunning pieces that will really make you think, plus some very well known artists like Rembrandt 😱

Not to mention just outside are tons of free experiences like street performers and other talented art venders.

A Romantic Seaside Get Away
📍Blue Lantern Inn, Dana Point CA

This gorgeous cliffside B&B is truly the best weekend getaway experience we have ever had. The service and attention to detail were flawless, and the amenities felt endless. Each room with an ocean view offers a different visage of the HUGE ocean cliffside the inn sits on and a whirlpool tub that is just built differently (imagine the perfect jacuzzi tub, it's that).

The town has multiple activities and dining options but below are the ones we had a chance to experience, along with the average price and total cost of this staycation.

Stay:
- Blue Lantern Inn - Two Nights, King Bed with Ocean View ($800) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dining:
- Coastal Cafe - Lunch ($80) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- ️Luxe Restaurant - Dinner ($95)⭐⭐⭐
- Bonjour Cafe - Lunch ($50) ⭐
- Rita's - Dessert ($20) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Activities:
- Dana Point Farmers Market - Free ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Best Friend Art Gallery - Free ⭐⭐⭐
- Dana Point Arches - Free ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- Watching the Sunset at Salt Creek Beach Bluffs - Free ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Total per person: $693

Stands outs were the fried asparagus from Luxe, butter cake from Coastal Kitchen, Rita's Ice from Ritas (I know everyone has tried this except me, but my mind was blown), sunset from the bluffs (absolutely STUNNING location), and of course the sailing cruise was perfection.

This isn't the cheapest staycation you can take, but it really does feel luxurious, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a truly relaxing weekend vacation without all the travel. The Perfect Date Night Activity
📍 Dana Point, Ca

This incredible two hour sailing cruise is unlike any other ocean experience we have tried before. The crew allow you to help raise the sails as you begin your journey which makes you feel like a true sailor and the timing of launch means you will have excellent sunset views the entire trip.

There is Champagne and beer provided for the entire experience along with snacks and blankets for ultimate comfort. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The Perfect Weekend Road-trip
📍Lone Pine, Ca

Located just a few hours outside of San Diego and Los Angeles, the stretch of Highway between historic Lone Pine, California and Mono Lake, California houses tons of perfect weekend activities for any adventures couple, friend group or solo traveler. Below is the list of places we recommend checking out but truly there are dozens more:

1. Red Rock Canyon State Park (CA not NV)
2. Alabama Hills (great place to free camp or just stop for a campfire
3. Mono Lake (recommend bringing a kayak to see more salt structures)
4. Wild Willy's Hot Springs ( Small hike to get there but this is an absolutely MUST. The view is literally insane)
5. Manzanar (this is really intense but so worth the stop)
6. @coppertopbbq (We will never stop talking about how good this was)
