I found it! Every day for three years I passed my dad’s class photo at @howardlawschool along with many class photos dating back over a century. I attended the oldest historically Black law school in the United States and one of the oldest law school in the country. It is an honor to be join these amazing people, history makers past and present, on the walls of such an esteemed institution.

Saw my friend’s wife on a dating app—am I wrong to get involved?

I (45M) am recently divorced and back in the dating scene. My ex-wife cheated on me, which led to our divorce. It was a horrible experience, but I’m glad I found out. I’d rather know the truth than live in ignorance.

Since the divorce, I’ve been using dating apps, but honestly, it’s been a frustrating experience. A few days ago, I was swiping through profiles when I saw someone I immediately recognized—my ex-wife’s best friend, “Sarah” (not her real name). She’s married to one of my close friends, “Tom” (also not his real name).

It’s time for Q&A Sunday on Chat & Bother! I made the “eggs” like my Tobagonian dad makes them, BUT we were out of onions, so I used onion powder, AND we were out of Matouk’s, so I had to use Crystal hot sauce which was NOTHING like Matouk’s. *sigh*

Breakfast is done, so it is time to make your way on over to @chatandbother for Q&A Sunday! We have a surprise… 🤭 by @socamom

Day 2 #essencefest

On day four in New Orleans, day two of the @essencefilmfestival at @essencefest we got up early and walked to @ironworkscoffeenola and had the biggest crepes I had ever seen. They were amazing, and the decor was so cool.

Wasn’t feeling top notch so I took me a li’l break before heading to the Black Women’s Brunch by @colorofchange. Big shout of to @theofficialmsmarjon 🩷💚 for the invitation. From there we headed to the Island Icons celebration by @melandnmedia and @caribbiznetwork. Thank you to @livefrommelissa for the invitation. (H-UUUUUU ❤️💙) The food at @14parishesnola was phenomenal!

After that we hustled back to the Film Festival through the insane traffic (VP @kamalaharris was speaking at Essence Fest) to get to see Living Proof: Dr. Khalid’s Black History 101 Mobile Museum. I am so glad we made it! Thank you to the director @mrwavedance and his fabulous wife for the invitation. It was eye-opening and so informative. I fought back tears at least twice. Traffic was so crazy. @professorgriff was supposed to be on the Q&A panel, but couldn’t make it. Seeing him speak would have been a bucket list/childhood dream unlocked. (I was a HUGE @publicenemy fan in high school - posters everywhere).

Friends came down to hang out, so we headed to bourbon street, against the advice of every @lyft driver we had. We had a BALL! Yes, there was horse poo. BUT great company, live music, dancing, and great food were also there.

Even though I took a minute to gather myself after breakfast, it was by far the longest and most action packed day of the trip.
