🌄 Trip Idea: Kolovrat Open-Air Museum

Perched on the scenic Kolovrat Ridge, the open-air museum preserves the third Italian defence line from the Isonzo Front and offers breathtaking views over the Soča Valley, stretching from the Kanin and Krn mountain ranges to the Friulian Plain and the Adriatic Sea.

You can also reach Kolovrat by public transport during the summer:

🚌 From Tolmin, take the T4 Tolmin–Kolovrat bus. The fare is €2, while children under 10 and Soča Valley Destination Card holders travel free.

🚌 From Kobarid, the Kobarid Hop-on Hop-off bus (Route K2 Kobarid–Livek–Kolovrat–Kobarid) takes you to Kolovrat free of charge.

Trip Idea: Virje Waterfall 💧

Virje Waterfall is one of the most photogenic waterfalls in the Soča Valley and a perfect destination for a short outing. 🌿

You can also reach it by the Bovec Hop-on Hop-off bus (Route B3 | Bovec–Virje–Boka–Čezsoča). From the village of Plužna, it's a 15–20 minute walk to the waterfall, we recommend wearing hiking shoes.

🌼 Edelweiss is one of the most iconic alpine flowers and the first protected plant species in Slovenia.

It grows in remote and hard-to-reach places, usually above 1,500 metres, among alpine meadows, scree and rocky cliffs.

👀 Did you know?
The yellow centre is the true flower cluster, made up of 5 to 8 tiny yellow flowers. The iconic silvery-white "petals" are actually leaves. The entire plant is covered with fine white hairs that protect it from cold and excessive water loss in its dry, windy alpine habitat.

If you're lucky enough to find one, admire it where it belongs – in its natural habitat.

🎬 The I feel Slovenia Soča Outdoor Festival 2026 AFTER MOVIE is here!

For three days, Tolmin moved a little differently.

The mornings started early. The climbs were steep. The heat made every kilometre harder. The Tolminka was colder than expected and exactly what everyone needed at the finish line.

Some came to race. Some came to hike. Some came to cheer, help, carry water, point the way, hand out bibs and keep the festival moving.

3,400 people from 51 countries became part of the same flow.

This year was sold out. It was hot, intense, beautiful, loud, emotional and, at times, not easy. We had to adapt to the heat, adapt to nature, who showed us once again how powerful and beautiful she is.

That is Soča Outdoor. A weekend that takes a lot, gives even more, and stays with you long after the finish line.

Thank you to everyone who was part of it.
