Big news for Small Goals, Big Change DC!

We're excited to welcome the @antoniorudigerfoundation as a new tournament partner, joining Soccer Without Borders and @districtsoccer_ in bringing the DC soccer community together for a day of play, connection, and positive change!

Founded by professional footballer Antonio Rüdiger, the Foundation supports youth education, sports development, and health in Sierra Leone, Washington, DC, and Berlin. Guided by its motto, “Always Believe”, the Foundation shares our belief in the power of soccer to help young people learn, play, and thrive.

On Saturday, November 14, we will gather at Bell Field for a one-day 7v7 tournament fundraiser supporting access to free soccer programs that foster belonging, build confidence, and create opportunities for young people on and off the field.

There's still time to get in on the action! Gather your squad, register a team, or join an existing one at the link in our bio.

A big thank you to the Antonio Rüdiger Foundation and District Soccer for helping make this event possible! by @soccerwoborders

Play like a girl! 🏆

Every girl deserves the opportunity to play, lead, and thrive. Every day at SWB, we see their strength, creativity, resilience, and potential, and we’re committed to creating spaces where girls feel valued, supported, and empowered to become everything they aspire to be. 💜

Because when girls take the field, they’re not just playing a sport. They’re building confidence, finding their voices, lifting each other up, and showing the world what’s possible when they’re given the opportunity to shine. 🌟

Here's to all of the girls at SWB who make the game — and the world — a better place! Thank you for being you. 🌎 by @soccerwoborders

Happy International Day of the Girl! 💜

Every girl deserves the opportunity to play, lead, learn, and belong. And we believe that soccer is a valuable tool for creating spaces where girls can build confidence, find community, discover their strengths, and imagine new possibilities for their futures. 🌟

From the pitch to the classroom and beyond, we're proud to stand alongside girls as they grow into leaders, teammates, and changemakers in their communities. We strive to build a world where every girl has support and opportunity to reach her full potential. 🌱

Today and every day, we're celebrating all of the amazing girls at SWB who show up, lift each other up, and remind us what's possible when everyone has a place on a team. Thank you for being a part of our SWB community. We're glad you're here! 😊 by @soccerwoborders

Happy National Coaches Day 2026! ✨

Today, we’re celebrating the coaches who do so much more than teach youth how to play soccer. ⚽

At Soccer Without Borders, our coaches create spaces where young people can show up as themselves, build confidence, find belonging, and know that they will always find support at SWB. 🫶

From the first practice to the final whistle, our coaches are mentors, teammates, listeners, teachers, and trusted adults, helping to ensure that young people can thrive both on and off the field. 🌱

To all of our SWB coaches: thank you for showing up, believing in our participants, and creating belonging and community through the game that we love. 🌟

We're glad you're here! 💛 by @soccerwoborders

Celebrating Peace Through Soccer in Nicaragua! ✨

Earlier this month, Fútbol Sin Fronteras Nicaragua brought the local community together for the Peace Cup (Copa de la Paz)! This event is held annually in honor of the International Day of Peace. 🕊️

This year, more than 250 players across multiple age groups took to the field, bringing energy, teamwork, and plenty of smiles to every match. While teams competed for the Peace Cup, the magic of the day was ultimately about everyone coming together through the game we all love. 💛

Thank you to the families who showed up to cheer on and support their daughters from the sidelines, and to the incredible local and guest coaches who helped make this tournament possible. ⚽

Congratulations to all of the participants for their teamwork, sportsmanship, and joy on the field! 😊 by @soccerwoborders

Uganda Girls Leagues Spotlight! 🇺🇬

This year, the Uganda Girls Leagues (UGL) served more than 400 girls, creating spaces where girls could play, build confidence, and grow as leaders. 🌱

UGL brings free, structured soccer opportunities to girls during school holidays—helping make sure that more girls have a safe and supportive place to stay active, connect with their communities, and further develop their soccer skills. ⚽

Beyond soccer, girls have opportunities to step into leadership roles as team captains and referees, all while female coaches and managers lead as supportive adults who can understand and relate to the experiences that our girls navigate both on and off the field. ✨

Both on and off the pitch, UGL is supporting girls to see themselves not only as athletes, but also as teammates, leaders, and voices in their communities. 📣

Thank you to our @swbuganda team, partners, and donors for making our Uganda Girls Leagues possible! 💛 by @soccerwoborders

From the Field to the Classroom! 📚

For youth, belonging doesn’t stop at the soccer field. 🏟️

It can look like raising your hand in class. Making a new friend. Speaking up about what you need. Feeling confident enough to look for new opportunities. ✨

And our school partners see that transformation firsthand.
From teachers and youth advocates to community school leaders, they see how the relationships built through SWB can help newcomer students feel connected, supported, and ready to step into a new school year. 🌱

One educator recently shared, connecting a student with SWB can be the start of a “beautiful metamorphosis”—one where they begin to speak up, make friends, and find more ways to connect. 🌈

That’s what belonging, community, and support can make possible. 💙

Your gift to SWB can help keep free, year-round soccer and support available to participants throughout the school year.

Will you step forward for the school year ahead? 🎒 by @soccerwoborders

From the Pitch to the Classroom with Coach Ryan at @swbbaltimore! ✨

What can young people learn on the soccer field that they can carry with them into the classroom—and beyond? 🌱

In our latest blog, Coach Ryan Gitonga shares what years of working with newcomer youth has taught him about belonging, confidence, language learning, mentorship, and the power of simply having a place to be yourself. 💙

From practicing English with teammates to finding the confidence to speak up at school, the lessons we learn through soccer reach far beyond the field.🌟

When the Field Feels Like Home! 🏠

A new school year means new classrooms, new routines, new faces—and for underserved youth, sometimes a whole new language, school system, and community. 📚

But stepping onto a soccer field can make that newness feel a little less overwhelming. 🫶

At SWB, the soccer field becomes a familiar place in the midst of so much change—a place to build friendships, meet trusted coaches, be themselves, and feel at home. ✨

“Soccer wasn’t just all about soccer. It was a whole new community, mentorship, family.” — Neha, SWB Bay Area participant 💙

All week long, we’re sharing stories of what becomes possible when young people have a team, a coach, and a place to belong. ⚽

Help us start the school year strong! We’re looking for 20 supporters to help make another year of soccer, mentorship, community, and belonging accessible to underserved youth. Will you step onto the field with us? 🎓
