Comment “makeover” to get the free Instagram Profile Makeover Guide, made specifically for interior designers.

If your Instagram isn’t getting the traction you hoped for, you need to start with the first thing people see: your profile.

Your bio, name field, highlights, and top posts play a HUGE role in whether someone follows you, or more importantly, clicks “inquire.”

Most designers skip this step, which means they can be losing potential followers and clients every day. 🥺

It takes just a few minutes to update your profile and makes a massive difference in how your profile converts visitors into followers and inquiries.

Something I’ve learned after working with dozens of interior designers is that most aren’t struggling with creativity; they’re struggling with capacity.

I hear it all the time:

• You want to stay consistent on social, but client work always takes over.
• You’ve tried doing it yourself, but end up lost in the overwhelm.
• You’ve tried hiring help, but it never feels quite on-brand.
• You know social media matters for visibility and growth, you just don’t have time to actually implement it.
• You need someone who understands your world and how you work.

Every piece of content we create is styled with the same precision you bring to your projects. That’s why our clients say working with us feels seamless, personal, and genuinely game-changing for their brand.

If planning your content usually starts with a blank stare and a thought similar to, "What in the world should I post this month?” I hope this helps get the wheels turning.

Before you start thinking about individual post ideas, think about what you’re actually trying to get out of your content in the first place.

Are you trying to book more full-service projects? Attract clients in a specific area? Educate people on why they should hire a designer earlier? Get more of a certain type of project?

Those answers should shape what you’re talking about in your posts.

You could have a perfectly consistent content calendar filled out for every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and still spend an entire month talking about things that have very little to do with the clients or projects you actually want.

So before you start filling in those little boxes on your content calendar, try to answer these 5 questions first.

And if you want more tips and ideas for planning your content, make sure to join my broadcast channel on my profile. 📲

You know Instagram can bring in clients.

You see other designers getting inquiries from it. You hear people talk about Instagram being one of their biggest sources of leads. Maybe you’ve even gotten a few inquiries yourself.

But getting from posting on Instagram to it consistently bringing you the right inquiries is where it starts to get challenging.

What do you actually need to post? How often? How do you show your work without just posting pretty project photos over and over? How do you get in front of people who could actually hire you?

It’s not about posting more just for the sake of being active. It’s about having a strategy behind what you’re sharing, who you’re trying to reach, and what someone needs to see from you before they’re ready to inquire.

If you know Instagram could be doing more for your design business but you’re not quite sure how to get there, you’re exactly who we work with.

Not every month comes with a brand-new project, professional photoshoot, or finished space to reveal. But that doesn’t mean you have nothing to post.

Your projects might take months or years. Your marketing can’t disappear between reveals.

Building a repeatable content system around the work you’re already doing gives you something much more sustainable than constantly waiting for the next professional shoot.

Save this somewhere you can find it the next time your content folder starts feeling a little empty.

And this is why we love doing what we do. 🤍

Full testimonial below⭣

“Working with Cassie and the SocialNectar team has been an absolute game changer for my business. I was completely overwhelmed and too busy to manage my social media the way I wanted to, and they truly stepped in and took care of everything.

From our very first meeting, where they presented their clear and thoughtful strategy, to the ongoing monthly updates and content planning, they’ve consistently impressed me with their professionalism and creativity. Giving away my ‘baby,’ the social media presence I built from the ground up, was not easy, but they made it seamless.

They understand and use my brand voice perfectly, are incredibly responsive with engagement and comments, and their content is beyond anything I could have imagined. Every post is unique, strategic, and beautifully aligned with my brand.

Cassie and her team are not just good at what they do. They are amazing partners in growth. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.” — Denise Palma at EG Design Co.

Trends can absolutely have a place in your content strategy, but that doesn’t mean you need to jump on every trending audio or Reel format that comes across your feed.

We like to use trends when they make sense for the brand. When there’s a natural way to tie one into your work, your perspective, or something your ideal client would actually care about, go for it.

The goal isn’t to look like everyone else on Instagram. It’s to use what’s working on the platform in a way that still feels like you. Trends are just a tool, not a strategy.

If you’re constantly wondering what to post, saving random ideas, and then staring at your camera roll hoping something comes together… you probably don’t need more content ideas. You need a strategy.

Once you know what you want to be known for, who you’re speaking to, and the types of content that support your goals, planning your Instagram gets a whole lot easier.

That’s exactly what I teach inside Master Instagram as an Interior Designer—how to create a strategy you can actually use, so you’re not starting from scratch every time you sit down to post.

If you’re ready to feel a little less scattered when it comes to Instagram, you can learn more about the course through the link in my bio.

A quick spike in views doesn’t necessarily mean more inquiries, stronger brand recognition, or the right people paying attention.

It's better to create content that gives someone a reason to keep following along. Content that shows your perspective, reinforces your expertise, and makes your business memorable long before they’re ready to hire you.

That kind of marketing may not always create an overnight spike—but it builds something much more valuable: trust.

And when the right client is finally ready to hire an interior designer, you want your name to be the one that already feels familiar.

Fun fact about me: Fall is my favorite season, and I’ve literally been counting down the days since June. 😂

Moody greens, warm browns, worn-in textures, collected details, and candles lit before dinner… count me in.

Potential clients are forming an impression of your business long before they submit an inquiry.

They’re quietly trying to understand whether your style fits their vision, whether they can trust you with their home, what makes your process different, and what working with you would actually feel like.

Your content should answer those questions before the first conversation ever happens.

Save this checklist and use it to identify what your current content may be leaving unanswered.
