What's the difference between Psychology, Sociology, and Social Work?
There are some majors that probably never intersect at all, and then there are some that seem so similar that they likely share interests, career paths, and coursework. Here's the differences between three that students might find themselves pulled between. Link in bio! by @socialworkcsu

Big thank you to Colorado State Representative Rebekah Stewart!
Stewart attended the MSW policy course to discuss how her work as a music therapy clinician inspired her to get involved in policy. Students learned about getting involved in policy and systems change work, as well as what to offer policymakers and the processes involved in advocacy.

The connection didn't stop there! MSW distance student Angela Furney met with Representative Stewart to further discuss policy around affordable housing and human trafficking.

Grateful for our community of Rams and community of Coloradans working for positive policy change! State Representative Rebekah Stewart talks to a classroom full of social work students about how to get involved and influence policy and systems in their careers. by @socialworkcsu

Q: What does Social Work mean to you?
A: To me, social work means becoming an advocate and a voice for what is right. Not only are you going into a profession where individuals will count on you to advocate for them, but you also get to build amazing connections, understand how to work with people, and how to care for individuals.

Q: What communities do you hope to impact through your degree and what impacts do you hope to have?
A: I hope to impact the youth communities; I hope to become an advocate and a voice when the youth feel they cannot be one.

Q: What do you love most about studying social work at CSU?
A: One of my favorite things I love when studying social work is the life skills you learn. I also love the self-care tips that social work programs equip us with; burnout is very prevalent issue when working in this profession, and it is so important to prioritize yourself!

Q: Why should someone study social work at CSU?
A: Anyone can study social work at CSU, even if it is not their primary major; we offer a minor. I also think it teaches such amazing skills to have when working with individuals. Maianna Crellin and a friend hold stuff rams and pose for a photo with CSU President Amy Parsons by @socialworkcsu
