SocialX Cafe was never about coffee or food. It was always about something much bigger: people meeting people, conversations, new friendships, and random plans turning into memories. A proper hangout space. Solo or with friends. You don’t make plans and come to SocialX. You come to SocialX and end up making plans. That’s honestly the whole point of it. If you’re in Hyderabad and looking for good café culture, social events, creative meetups, music nights, reading sessions, workshops, networking events, or just a place to meet new people and hang out, you’ll probably fit right in here. by @socialxcafe
Everything is designed for convenience. Food delivery. Remote work. Streaming. Endless scrolling. Instant entertainment. But somewhere along the way, real human connection became harder. People have never been more digitally connected, yet loneliness, social isolation, and difficulty making friends have become part of modern urban life, especially for young adults navigating busy schedules, work pressure, and life in big cities. modern systems quietly reward staying indoors while meaningful social interaction keeps becoming more difficult. At SocialX cafe, we believe meeting people in real life shouldn’t feel exhausting. We’re building experiences, communities, and social events that make human connection feel natural again. If you’ve ever: * struggled to make friends as an adult * felt disconnected despite being online all day * cancelled plans because you were too drained * wanted more genuine social interaction * searched for things to do with new people you’re not alone. SocialX cafe exists to make socializing easier, more natural, and more human. by @socialxcafe
Who decides the categories we use to organise people? And when AI makes biased decisions, does the problem begin with the algorithm - or with the data it learns from? Join us for a thought-provoking conversation on AI bias, data, gender, and the hidden human choices shaping artificial intelligence, featuring two perspectives: 🎙️ Dr. Sukrit Mittal - Director of AI & Optimization Research, Franklin Templeton 🎙️ Shatakshi Garg - Technical Advisor, PNG Women Lead, Gender Hub, Abt Global 📅 Sunday, 1st November | 4 PM onwards 📍 SocialX Cafe, Madhapur, Hyderabad 🎟️ Tickets are live! India is the world’s largest democracy. But since 1947, it has fought multiple wars, endured prolonged insurgencies and navigated persistent security challenges. Has this extraordinary experience of conflict strengthened Indian democracy? Or has democracy survived despite the demands of war? Join Air Vice Marshal (Dr) Arjun Subramaniam (Retd), former Indian Air Force fighter pilot, military historian, and author of India’s Wars I and India’s Wars II, for a conversation exploring India’s military history, nationalism, the role of professional armed forces, and the relationship between war and democratic resilience. From the wars of 1947, 1962, 1965 and 1971 to Kargil, insurgencies and Operation Sindoor, we’ll revisit pivotal moments in India’s security history through rare historical photographs and a deeper examination of the nation’s democratic journey. Because understanding a democracy also means understanding the wars it fights. 📍 Sunday, 25th October | 5 PM onwards | SocialX Cafe, Madhapur, Hyderabad 🎟️ Book your tickets - link in bio. {The Brain Bar, Hyderabad events, military history India, Indian democracy, India’s wars, Arjun Subramaniam, national security, Indian Air Force, war and democracy, nationalism in India, Operation Sindoor, Kargil War, political discussions Hyderabad, intellectual events Hyderabad, weekend events, fyp} #thebrainbar #thebrainbarhyderabad #hyderabad #community #weekendevents by @socialxcafe
What does it really mean to think? And can we ever be certain that the way we think is right? Philosophy isn’t just about asking big questions. It’s about examining the assumptions behind our beliefs, challenging the arguments we take for granted, and questioning the very ways in which we make sense of the world. Why do philosophical disagreements persist? Can anything truly be beyond criticism? And what happens when philosophy turns its analytical lens upon itself? Join Prof. C. A. Tomy of the University of Hyderabad for an engaging exploration of philosophical thinking, drawing on the ideas of Descartes, Kant, Wittgenstein, Carnap, and Ramchandra Gandhi. From the nature of rational inquiry to the limits of knowledge, this Brain Bar session invites you to question not just what you think, but how you think. 📍 Saturday, 24th October | 7 PM onwards | SocialX Cafe, Madhapur 🎟️ Book your tickets now - link in bio! {lectures in bars, lectures in cafes, philosophy, intellectual conversations, hyderabad events, university of hyderabad, hyderabad community, fyp} #thebrainbar #thebrainbarhyderabad #hyderabad #community #weekendevents by @socialxcafe
Why is feminism so misunderstood? Is it really just about women? Or is it about questioning the structures that shape gender, power, equality, and the way we live? At our Brain Bar conversation with Dr. Anandita Pan, we explored the questions that make feminism complicated and necessary. From the gender roles we learn as children to the hierarchies we continue to reproduce, the conversation moved beyond the simple men vs. women binary. We spoke about intersectionality, caste, class, social hierarchies, patriarchy, representation, and the different ways inequality is experienced. And perhaps most importantly, we explored feminism as a process of unlearning - questioning the assumptions we inherit and the things we have learned to accept as “normal.” Because challenging patriarchy isn’t only about questioning what happens to women. Sometimes, it means looking at how we participate in the structures ourselves. What would change if we started questioning what we’ve always considered normal? 🎟️ Tickets for our next event in Bio {feminism, gender equality, intersectionality, patriarchy, women’s rights, gender studies, caste and gender, social justice, gender roles, feminist theory, hyderabad, hyderabad events, weekend events, community, lectures in cafes, lectures in bars, the brain bar, learning, unlearning} #thebrainbar #thebrainbarhyderabad #hyderabad #hyderabadevents #weekendevents by @socialxcafe

We often think of crime as the result of bad people making bad choices. And when crime happens, our instinct is often to ask: How much should we punish? But what if we’re looking at the wrong end of the telescope? What role do family, community, opportunity, trauma, institutions and social norms play in shaping criminality? Can removing the “bad apples” ever be an effective solution if the orchard itself remains unchanged? Join us for a thought-provoking conversation with Dr. Anup Surendranath, Professor of Law at NALSAR and head of @thesquarecircleclinic , as we unpack our ideas of crime, responsibility and punishment. 📍 SocialX Cafe, Madhapur | Saturday, 26th September | 5 PM onwards 🎟️ Tickets are live - link in bio #thebrainbar #thebrainbarhyderabad #hyderabad #community #weekendevents by @socialxcafe

From suffrage and reproductive rights to the everyday expectations placed on women, feminism has taken many forms, sparked countless debates, and been understood in very different ways. Join us for an evening with Dr. Anandita Pan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Liberal Arts at IIT Hyderabad, as we unpack the ideas, histories and experiences behind one of the most debated movements of our time. 📍 SocialX Cafe, Madhapur Saturday, 12th September | 5 PM onwards 🎟️ Tickets link in Bio #thebrainbar #thebrainbarhyderabad #brainbar #community #weekendevents by @socialxcafe
