DOK-ING unveiled the MV-8 Komodo robotic ground system, equipped with a 15-meter Cobra MLC 90 bridge, at the Cerovac engineering testing ground. This system enables obstacle crossing without a crew, supporting vehicles weighing up to 93.9 tonnes. The Komodo maintains a speed of up to 55 km/h, and bridge deployment takes just two minutes. It is operated via remote control from a distance of up to 1.5 km.

The Kenyan – U.S. partnership at Manda Bay, Kenya, recently executed their first combined base defense exercise that tested the combined ability to detect and counter threats, ensuring continued power projection for counter-terrorism operations across East Africa.

Combined training between Kenyan Defence Forces and U.S. Forces is not new, but for the first time, MBK executed an installation-wide base defense exercise and marked the first complete cross-functional integration of combined forces, to include members from all branches of the KDF.

“We both want the same thing: the protection of this area, of Kenya, and to defeat the enemy,” said U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Christian Wheeler, Task Force Seminole Security Force operations. “Think of a rope that has multiple strands; the stronger we are combined, the stronger we are overall.”

The exercise included multiple force protection scenarios to test, stress, and assess the installation’s combined capabilities to defend itself against enemy attacks. It tested members on defensive emergency response and recovery operations, suspicious persons and activities drills, mortar counterfire, and more. @usafricom by @societalosint

On Sept. 16, under the direction of #SOUTHCOM, Joint Task Force Western Hemisphere (JTF-WHEM) forces successfully interdicted a floating refueling station supporting illicit at-sea drug trafficking operations in the Eastern Pacific.

Intelligence confirmed the vessel’s involvement with the Los Choneros violent narco-terrorist organization. Individuals removed from the vessel have been transferred to Ecuadorian authorities. After clearing the vessel and disembarking the crew, U.S. forces sank it. JTF-WHEM continues to conduct precise and professional operations to dismantle the logistical networks fueling narco-trafficking in the Western Hemisphere.
