CQGR

First iteration

This will be getting its own lower soon, just borrowing this one for show and tell.

Was going to put a 551 on this until I spent a gorillion dollars on handguards so I have this 512 on here for now. I’m also thinking a C-more would look pretty sick on this.

Had to get creative mounting the light with my lack of side rail sections and I think it worked out well. And finally found something to put this BCM muzzle device that’s been rolling around my parts bin for years.

My parts bin has turned into a Gggraveyard 🥁

Got this non free float rail as a cope for not finding a 1201, got another non free float for the rail pieces that were missing from my first one, then I got a tip on a 1201 yesterday and snagged it. Funny how it do be like that sometimes.

So what was gonna be one build will be two. The 1201 is gonna be a Pre 416 (I hear that’s a contentious term right now) and the 1285 is gonna be a 10.3 I’m calling the “CQGR” by @socomyamom

So my cope for not finding a complete 1201 rail was buying a 1285 (non free floated)

I thought I’d be able to at least cannibalize some of the rail sections/covers from the 1201 half that I have and discovered that the spacing between holes for screws are different specs 🤣

The screws were the only thing these THREE handguards have in common, but I think the rail covers might work with some dremeling. We’ll make due with what we have.

10.3 barrel is in the mail and the MK18 mod G is underway 🔥 by @socomyamom
