Advanced Reader Copy Review of *Ruthless Spare* by @author_miathorn

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

I really enjoyed this book! I loved the characters and thought the story was a good continuation of the first book.

Kane was such an interesting main male character. I definitely love my MMC’s a bit toxic and overly possessive. My favourite Kane moments are when he realises that he’s obsessed with Thea and loses control.

Thea was a refreshing FMC. I loved that she was troubled and not trying to be ‘perfect’.

That being said, I did find myself a little confused at times. It had been quite a while since I read the first book, and I think that definitely made it harder for me to remember all the characters, details and events that carried over into this one. I would strongly recommend reading (or rereading!) the first book before starting this one, as I think it would make the second book much easier to follow and enjoy.

Overall, though, I really liked this book and was happy to be back with these characters. It was an enjoyable read and definitely worth the four stars from me!

BLURB

It started with a message from a stranger.
Or so I thought.
Beneath a veil of anonymity, he lured out my secrets, fears, and desires.

Behind the mask, he could be anyone.
And somehow, it felt safer not knowing.

He comes to me under the cover of darkness, pulling me deeper into this forbidden game.
I give myself to him, knowing the consequences could destroy my life.
I just didn’t expect him to be the one to ruin me.

When the mask comes off, the truth cuts deep.
He isn’t just a man obsessed.
He’s the same man who’s hated me for the last nine years.

In the Cosa Nostra, they call him Il Lupo.
The wolf.
And all this time…
I’ve been his prey.

I had to take a minute to catch my breath after this one.

But this book is easily my favourite read of the year and an easy 5 ⭐ read!
I did not expect to love Zane as much as I do. The man that he is. The things he does. The way that Zane is obsessed with Faith, it was just everything.

I fell absolutely in love with this story. And the spice. The spice was spicing.

I had a few moments where I went “What did I just read” and the snakes 🐍 was one of those scenes.

Zane Valehart has easily joined my top book boyfriend list and I am getting myself a physical copy of this book immediately!

@authorscarlette you wrote a masterpiece and I cannot wait for book 2!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dark, twisted, and totally addictive.

I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into when I picked up The Psychopaths, but wow—J.L. Beck knows how to pull you into a world that’s as dangerous as it is impossible to walk away from. This book is dark, no question about it, but that’s exactly what made it so gripping for me.

The characters? Unhinged, obsessive, morally grey—and somehow I couldn’t get enough of them. There were moments I had to pause and just breathe, because the tension and intensity were that real. The connection between the main characters was magnetic, the kind of chemistry that makes you forget it’s 2AM and you promised yourself only one more chapter.

If you enjoy dark romance that doesn’t hold back, and characters who are beautifully messed up, this is one to add to your list. I’ll definitely be reading more from J.L. Beck. by @soems_books

Remy doesn’t just have a way with drawing and tattooing, he also has a way with words.

Remy might just be one of my favourite characters ever written. And I love @lawsonwrites and @authorsamrue for giving me this character!

The Dukes would kindly like to present to you all
Remington Maddox, tattoo artist extraordinaire.

Remy is an unbelievable artist who can make your biggest tattoo dreams come true. Remy will ink you up to your hearts content.
But please, don’t interfere with his creative process.

Also, regrettably no girls. Unless your name is Lavinia Lucia.

“Tonight embarks your journey as the vessel for the next great heir. Any woman can have a womb, but yours has been chosen.” He steps forward and presses a hand to my stomach. “Blessed.”

When I received the invitation to the Princes’ masked ball, I assumed it was a mistake. Possibly a prank. Why would East End Royalty invite West End trash for an opportunity to become their Princess?

The bigger question: Why would I take it?

I was raised to be the Dukes’ Duchess, but that dream came to an end when they chose a different woman. I had everything it took to be a house girl, including my innocence, something the Princes not only hold in high regard, but explicitly require.

It’s not the title that scares me.

It’s the men who have been chosen by the King. His adoptive sons.

Whitaker would fit the textbook image of Prince Charming to everyone but me. Gorgeous, athletic, and obnoxiously promiscuous, it only takes a few days as his Princess to realize the flirtatiousness in his eyes is a mask for what’s haunted beneath.

Believing me to be responsible for the two years he’s spent in prison, Pace harbors a grudge that’s as unyielding as his determination to know my every move. Even when he’s locked himself away, his eyes are everywhere. Watching. Waiting.

Lex, a moody, high-strung student on a straight shot to become a gifted surgeon, would rather have me under his scalpel than his body. Treating me like the subject of his experiment with fertilization is the closest I’ll come to having him as a lover.

These three have been trained to excel, endure, and maim, be it on in the hockey rink or down in the Palace’s dungeon. But most of all, they are Princes with one duty: to produce the next heir.

To Create is to Reign
