Some furniture stays with you long after the room it was bought for is gone.

My 1970s Bertoia Diamond Chair has followed me from Philadelphia to San Francisco and eventually to Southern Utah, finding its place in very different homes.

This is a casual snapshot taken during one of those moves. Nothing staged. Just a chair that keeps coming along.

My latest SoenHaus Journal essay is about living with good design, the value of authenticity, and why one exceptional piece can be more satisfying than a room full of matching furniture.

Now on the SoenHaus Journal. Link in bio.

Detail of the appliqué on the Fuzzi top. Autumn leaves subtly warm the delicate tulle, adding texture and a touch of seasonal color.

So many ways to wear and style it. Layer it under a vest, pair it with a cardigan, or wear it beneath a cool, oversized coat for that delicate, feminine look.

A versatile piece with endless possibilities. by @soenhaus

Layer and accessorize. Be bold. Be classy. Be creative.

A vintage French velvet jacket by Bill Tornade, with exterior pockets and buttoned sleeve details, layered over a Jean Paul Gaultier Fuzzi top with wool-felt and lace appliqué. Add a new wool scarf, a vintage necklace and brooch, and a vintage Ungaro skirt with a subtle flare.

A mix of designers, eras, textures, and unexpected details.

Wearable, comfortable, elegant, and full of personality. That's what personal style is all about.

1980s men’s leather jacket with a great sculpted shape—broad shoulders, a narrower hip, and subtle hidden-pocket detailing. Worn here over a cable-knit sweater, but this is exactly the kind of piece that makes layering interesting.
Girls, don’t overlook the men’s rack. Wear it oversized with a dress, skirt, or slim trousers for that effortless borrowed-from-the-boys look.
One of those vintage jackets that does the styling for you. Find it at SoenHaus. by @soenhaus

Vintage Layered Look

Vintage Y2K cropped tweed jacket with pink stitching, finished with a whimsical pink flower-basket brooch and silk twillies. Paired with a 1990s Ungaro skirt and a 1990s Coach crossbody bag.
A mix of eras, textures, and details that still feels completely current.

Y2K Miss Sixty rider-inspired jacket with a fitted, cropped silhouette, moto-style detailing, and that unmistakable early-2000s attitude. Lightweight, easy to wear, and très chic. Size small. New with tags. Some handling wear and priced accordingly. by @soenhaus

Our latest Journal post looks at current trends—Fall 2026: What to Add, What to Keep, What to Ignore. Link in bio.
Here I am sitting on a New York City stoop in the 1980s, wearing a mix that feels surprisingly current: stirrup pants, black patent-leather oxfords, a blue cashmere sweater, an oversized vintage men’s coat, and a graphic polka-dot scarf. Layering is big again this season.
Trends come and go. Personal style has a much longer life. by @soenhaus

A statement piece. Imagine this around your neck: brushed 18K gold, natural turquoise, baroque pearls, and coral beads. Bold, richly textured, and one of a kind.
Come in and try it on. by @soenhaus

A new essay is now up on the SoenHaus Journal:

What Survives the Moment

On fashion, interiors, taste, the zeitgeist, and how personal style develops over time.

I found myself thinking about everything from Jean Paul Gaultier and Gunne Sax to old rugs, furniture, music, film, and the things we continue to love long after a trend has passed.

Jess wears a men’s shirt with a vintage Missoni tie, a 1990s Chloé wool skirt, 1980s statement earrings, and a structured Y2K handbag and Gucci shades—pieces from different periods, styled together by SoenHaus.
