Shai Rose @shai_rose_ made the trip up from Byron Bay to play for us at our last Sofar Sunshine Coast gig, and what a night. 🌙

Her sound sits somewhere between folk, soul and alternative rock: soulful vocals, songs that sit right in the vulnerable stuff, and arrangements that build and swell when you least expect it. In a room that intimate, you could feel every word.

Shai released her first single “Overthinking” in 2023, then played a run of 6 solo showcases in London before relocating to Australia. Her debut album The Road followed in 2025, and since then she’s been through a lot. That depth and resilience is in everything she sings, and she’s now writing her next chapter: bolder, richer and built to land in a full live setting.

Thank you, Shai, for sharing your music and your story with us. We can’t wait to see where this next era takes you. 🤍

Go give her a listen and follow along 👉 @shai_rose_

Last month we tucked into @eumundicoffeeroasters and @zacgunthorpe played it like he’d written every song in that room. Folk and roots leaning into alt-country, that warm rasp of a voice carrying stories of love, loss and everything in between.

That’s the magic of Sofar. You never know the artist or the venue until you’re already there — and every time, it’s exactly where you needed to be.

A couple of years back, Jacob Lee @jacobleemusic played a room this small. No stage, no barriers — just him, a mic, and everyone leaning in.

This is what we build every time ✨

JAM SESSION IS BACK!
It’s been a minute since we did one of these ✨

Sunday 11 October, we are doing things a little differently — daylight instead of dark, doors open at 4PM, and a full afternoon building up to a full band booked for the day.

Come early for @feria_rewear , the pre-loved market — dig through good finds while the art goes up and the DJs warm up the space. Stick around as the sun drops and the music takes over. Expect groovy music all day.

Are you a muso and want to jump on stage? DM us. We would love to have you!

Same secret spirit. Different time of day 🌞
