4 years of marching band and I didn’t march once.

This is going to be really long. Marching band has been my favorite thing in the world these past few years, and that is mostly because of the people I have been surrounded by. My section continues to be my favorite group of humans, and for the entirety of high school, I have found comfort in calling them my family. I want to thank my freshman year section: the original 18 ducks. My four seniors were everything I wanted to be, and their leadership has stuck with me. My pit went from 7 pitizens to 15 and I am beyond grateful for how we’ve grown. To Ishika, Mikaili, and Alpha Ava: I cannot describe how much I will miss you. To Levi: thank you for being my older brother; your musicianship and knowledge is something I will always admire. To PAPA G: Thank you for being my biggest role model. I aspire to be half the person you are. To Chloe: Thank you for being my favorite rival. To Brit and Miles: Thank you for joining our section with so much enthusiasm. To Makenna, Gabby, Bailey, and Addy: Thank you for being my best friends in the world. To the Mooers: Thank you for making fun of me for being a band kid, and making sure it’s not the only thing I talk about. To my section (because if I listed each of you individually this would take forever): Thank you for being the funniest, liveliest group and making marching band fun. To Winter: Thank you for being my co-captain. You are the one person who has stuck with me in front ensemble for four years and I will miss our handshake and time together dearly. Finally, thank you Percussion Gods. I will always see myself as a duck.
