“Yes, she’s grown and changed so much, I can’t just take away that pain.”
-“The Archivist” by @maddsbuckley.

Music has been a crucial part of my life. I cannot recall a day when I didn’t listen to music to help me through whatever emotion I felt. I listen to music to calm myself when stressed, hype me up when I’m nervous, celebrate an accomplishment, cry after a horrible day, bring me back to a sentimental moment, or comfort me when I don’t understand what I’m feeling. I remember “I Know The End” by Phoebe Bridgers being very important to me in my early adolescence. I remember relating it to my life and trying to navigate the bittersweet feeling it left in my heart. My music video depicts the girl in a ghost costume, but now she’s a little older and a lot more confused. Despite being around people who seem to be her friends, she’s never felt more isolated in her life. She’s unhappy with herself because she doesn’t understand why her friend group makes her feel so alone. She puts on this costume in hopes of being more appealing to them, but they don’t care about all the effort she puts in for them. At the end of the video, the girl finds friends who care, who accept her for who she is. They see through the facade she puts up and love her, flaws and all.

Forever grateful for my lovely cast, Mr. Jeremy Dyer, my wonderful classmates, and everyone who supported me. Music video out now. 🤍 by @sofia.archivist
