finishing a half marathon is not something I would’ve ever imagined myself doing. the last year and a half of my life has been filled with so much joy and incredible experiences, but has also been one of the hardest.
losing my uncle almost a year ago to suicide put a lot of things into perspective. In the midst of some of the most amazing experiences I have been reminded of how precious our lives are. training for this half marathon was one of the hardest mental and physical challenges of my life.
when I woke up sunday morning my highlighted photo was one of my uncle and it gave me the boost I needed, a reminder he’s never too far. when I crossed that finish line all I could think about was how I ran this for him. I ran this for my dad. I ran this to prove to myself that I am capable of accomplishing anything regardless of how hard life gets.
