Dance saved me from going down a dark path of living a life that was mediocre and purposeless.

I remember feeling so insecure as a teenager, confused, uncertain and worried about a future that would keep me uninspired, uninterested and scared of what would come with saying yes to a life that wasn’t mine.

Now here we are. I kept the dream in my heart. And because of that, I have attracted some amazing people and experiences. And the best part of it all is, I have my love by my side to do it all with. @carloszapatadancer

To many more new levels and new horizons to reach. I’m not stopping - I am an artist for life.

Save this post or send to someone you know who needs the reminder to never give up. ❤️‍🔥

I love you.

I wish I could tell this little girl that the things that made her feel different would one day become the very things that shaped her life.

She would become a professional dancer, build a life through art… and still have the courage to begin again with a new dream.

If you’re still becoming who you’re meant to be, don’t count yourself out yet.

Between Applause and Silence

There is a strange hunger
in wanting to be seen
and still wanting
to belong to yourself.

I move between worlds,
between the stage and the silence,
between becoming known
and disappearing long enough
to recharge, create, and simply be.

The world we live in today is both a blessing and a curse.

The freedom to create anything.
To share it with the world at any given moment.

And yet…

The pressure to stay consistent and relevant.
The pressure to continuously evolve.
The pressure to become your own marketing machine.

I find myself somewhere in the middle.

I love creating. I love bringing an idea to life and sharing a piece of it with the world.

But I also love the parts of myself that remain unseen.
Unexplained.
The parts that don’t need to be understood by everyone.

And sometimes I wonder if being quiet will be mistaken for not wanting it badly enough.

But my ambition doesn’t disappear when I do.

I don’t want to create just to remind the world I’m here.

I want to create because something inside me refuses to stay unexpressed.

And when I do step into the light, I want it to mean something.

That’s the balance I’m still learning to find.

I know it sounds cliché, but sometimes clichés exist because they’re true.

Just a few years ago, this would have felt impossible... Singing live all by myself?

What if my voice cracks?

What if I forget the lyrics?

What if I don’t hit that high note?

What if it looks like I’m trying too hard?

What if it looks like I’m not trying hard enough?

Will they feel anything?

Will I sound good live?

All of those questions disappeared the moment I stepped on stage and opened my mouth to sing.

I can’t fully describe how magical it felt. It was something I’ve never experienced before.

The bar was loud, busy, and if I’m honest, I felt a little out of place… a little uncomfortable.

But I knew I had one mission. I was there to do something that mattered deeply to me.

The moment I started singing, the room grew noticeably quieter than it had been just moments before. People turned toward the stage, and although the room was dark and I couldn’t see everyone clearly, I could make out a few faces looking back at me.

Carlos told me he saw people close their eyes and simply enjoy the music.

Me? I did that?

Time truly stood still.

My coach’s words echoed in my mind:
“You did the work. You practiced. Remove the checklist from your mind and just connect. Sing from your heart. Be real.”

@marlajoy, thank you. You’ve done so much for me over the past year.

Those words were all I carried with me on that stage.

I’m so grateful for the love and support from the people closest to me. My partner, Carlos, is my rock. He makes me feel invincible.

And thank you to my friends Sasha, Dita, and Chris for coming out on Tuesday. You were nothing but supportive and gave me so much love. I love you guys.

And now?

I feel like a new version of Sofia has emerged. A version I’ve never met before, and I’m so incredibly excited to discover who she becomes.

This is only the beginning. ❤️

Last night, I witnessed something I'll never forget.♥️

For more than 10 years, Sofía and I have shared stages around the world. We've danced through every challenge, every victory, and every standing ovation. We've always had each other.

But last night was different.

For the first time, I watched from the audience while she stood on stage alone. I won't lie; it was one of the hardest things for me. I wanted to be beside her, to protect her, and to share every emotion the way we always have. Instead, all I could do was watch... and believe in her.

And then she began to sing.

The moment your voice filled the room, everything changed. You changed the entire atmosphere with your presence, your beauty, and your amazing voice. People stopped talking. They listened. They felt something. I wasn't just watching my girlfriend perform. I was watching a woman inspire an entire room simply by being herself.

Sofía, I hope you truly understand what you accomplished. It wasn't just about singing. It was about having the courage to be vulnerable, believe in yourself, and chase a dream that sets your soul on fire.

To everyone reading this: if you have a dream, don't wait. There will never be a perfect moment. Your time is now. Be brave enough to take the first step, even if you're scared. Every incredible journey begins with one decision.

And choose the people around you wisely. Surround yourself with those who celebrate your victories, lift you up when you fall, and genuinely want the best for you.

To our incredible friends, thank you from the bottom of my heart for coming out and supporting Sofía. Your love and encouragement meant more than you know.

Sofía, I've always admired you as a dancer, but last night I admired you even more as a woman. You reminded all of us that life is too short to leave dreams unexplored.

I know this is only the beginning. The world is about to discover what I have always known.

Never stop believing. Never stop dreaming. Never stop shining.

Te amo, mi shining star. ❤️✨ The best is yet to come. by @sofiaskvirsky
