Portia is almost ready to find her forever home! If you’re in Texas (or ideally in the greater heights / oak forest area of Houston so I can stay in touch), you can apply to adopt Portia or her sister, Nettie, at igrescuetx.org/application

Donations allow @igrescuefoundation to keep helping dogs in need ➡️ igrescuetx.org/make-a-donation/

Apply to foster or volunteer ➡️ igrescuetx.org/i-want-to-help/

Portia is what we lovingly call a biggy & a senior. She’s still in her prime & loves to play, cuddle, and relax on the sofa. You may have to get whippet clothes for her instead of iggy clothes though 🤣

She walks great on a leash, loves to explore, and gets SO excited when she knows it’s time for a walk.

Portia is a fashionista and enjoys showing off her hats, sunnies, bandanas, and outfits. She’s a very regal & sophisticated biggy.

She sleeps well in a dog bed, crate, or human bed. She’s also fully potty trained - she’s had zero accidents since she arrived at her foster home.

I didn’t expect a short term medical foster to turn into a nine month rehab foster - but it’s what I asked for, and I am SO glad Italian Greyhound Rescue Foundation of Texas and Oklahoma let me have the absolute pleasure of nine months with the most amazing girl.

From the weeks it took to leave the crate, to the first time she let me pet her, and reluctantly letting me hold her, hiding in every nook & cranny in my house, and eventually her first attempt at initiating contact with me, Mara has been incredibly brave. It’s hard to believe this scared, undersocialized, and cautious girl has blossomed into a kind, loving, playful, shower-obsessed, squirrel-chasing, curious, and perfect Iggy.

My first foster and one of the lights of my life since Sofia passed away was just adopted by the most amazing person & dog-brother, and I couldn’t be happier for her & her new family. I’m so excited to see her continue to blossom & grow with her new mom 🥰🥹🤗

thank you for trusting me, @igrescuefoundation. Foster, volunteer, adopt, donate: igrescuetx.org taken in Houston, Texas by @sofiatheitaliangreyhound

First person to find all of the hidden Sofia’s in the first picture gets a surprise Christmas present & $50 donation to your dog charity if choice (hopefully it’s @igrescuefoundation though hehe).

Thank you so much @oc_iggy_ralpheo for the amazing Sofia hat. I cried, I laughed, I love it. My foster girlies have been LOVING the turkey treats, and I’ve been making this video of Sofia and going down memory lane for over a week 😂

Tysm @princepablo.iggy & @iggiesoftheworld for putting this on and letting me join a little late. Losing Sofia has been the hardest loss of my life - fostering my IGRF girls & scheming what to buy for Iggy secret santa made it a little bit easier.

& final thank you to @rocketlovesblue — I listen to Lou multiple times a day. Y’all captured the loss perfectly. taken in Houston, Texas by @sofiatheitaliangreyhound

I don’t wanna taco bout it. Someone really needs to tell @natilombana that Halloween is not in September & @marcommc that I am in fact NOT a snack.
