In force swimming test, antidepressant activity of floxetine (SSRI) was checked in treated mice group
MOA: Blocks serotonin reuptake, increasing concentration in synaptic cleft, treating depression-like symptoms, and uplifting mood.

Pharmacognosy Lab Exp# Acid value determimation of Oil:
👩‍⚕️🧪 Acid Value Determination

Process:
- Dissolve oil (7g) in conical flask
- Ethanol(25ml) + phenolphthalein 1g pellets (indicator)
- Mix both in a beaker placing under the burette
- Titrate with KOH (potassium hydroxide) till pink endpoint (5.6g pellet in 100ml dil water)

Acid Value Formula:
Acid Value (mg KOH/g oil) = (V × N × 56) / W
- V = KOH volume used (mL)
- N = KOH normality (0.1N as reference to manual)
- W = Oil weight (g)
- 56 = KOH molecular weight
Our value tured out was: 1ml × 0.1 N × 56) / 7g =0.8(mg of KOH) A.V

👩‍⚕️ Significance of Acid Value – tells you the oil's quality 😊

✅High acid value = more free fatty acids = oil is:
- More prone to rancidity
- Less stable for cooking/storage
- Might need refining
✅Low acid value = better quality, more stable oil by @sofiathelas
