259 days ago, I gave God my “yes” to send me everywhere He wanted me to go. @thesend was truly life altering and i was completely blindsided to it at the time. I believed that my call was to minister to others in college because that was easy and comfortable to me. But God was calling me to uncomfortably, both spiritually and physically. “Love is the root of missions; sacrifice is the fruit of missions” Joining @ywamships_kona was the first time in my life where i fully surrendered my life to Jesus. Going to Alabama was my “dream” and I had every last detail of the next four years of my life fully planned out. But I knew that He was calling me higher than just my own fleshly desires. I gave up college, and being comfortable, left my family and friends, to go and live out the great commission. “To know Him, and to make Him known” Being in a fourth world country has been exceedingly strenuous. I thought being a missionary was just going to impoverished nations and preaching the gospel. But it’s so much more. It’s physically and spiritually and emotionally demanding and it’s exhausting. Though, I wouldn’t change a single thing. These people live with diseases like HIV and AIDS and get cast out of their families, they are beaten and killed by family members, they are living off of nothing, YET they STILL praise God. I have never in my life seen or experienced the love of Jesus like i have in PNG. These people ADORE Jesus like I’ve never witnessed before. These pictures and videos will never be enough to get the idea through your heads what living like this has been like. You truly have to live it out, and if you do I promise you will be so fulfilled and have a joy in your heart that you’ve never had before by @sofiavhackett
