Hello world!

It’s me, a lil creature living in the mountains among colored pencils & watercolor brushes.

I love home baked rolls & silence.

I’m a forever dreamer & certainly some kind of alien who fell in love with the Earth & chose it as my home.

In this corner of the web I want to share art & reasons to be alive, because sometimes it can get hard & we all need reminders of the glimmers!

I’m almost 31, inside tho I’m maybe 7.
I don’t belong to any country or people.
Music makes me cry.
I love to be alone, a lot.

And lastly, I just want to say..

We’re spinning on a weird rock with a molten lava in the middle. Through space. That’s supposedly infinite.
And no one knows where Universe comes from.
And what we are doing here…
So yeah.
Let’s not be hard on ourselves. We’re all learning & winging it.
Just keep going. One step at a time.
And from time to time look up & have a laugh at this ridiculous miracle of an existence that we’re living.
And make art. Always.

That’s all 💖!

Love, Sofi

The greatest luxury is to slow down.

Maybe that’s why hobbies like reading, knitting, drawing, gardening are so rewarding.

They make you slow down.
And just be with what’s in front of you.

This illustration is a love poem to everything
that’s soft, cosy, safe and slow.

Made with watercolors! 😊

The Witch’s Hat first spread 🥹💖🌸.

A little mock up project of a little witch who heads out to get her very first perfectly fitted witch’s hat.
But on the way home something goes terribly wrong. 🤭😬
Can you find her companions?

Made with watercolors.

Una carta de amor / A love letter 💌

(English below)

No hablo mucho sobre política,
pero no podemos callarnos.
Amar es cuidar, y no solo mirar
dejando que cosas pasan.
Como podemos amar a un
lugar y seguir contaminándolo?
Cómo podemos mirar algo caer en
pedazos y no intentar de arreglarlo?

Necesitamos una visión global,
pero la acción local!

Bariloche es mi casa.

Lo quiero ver brillar de verdad,
porque es increíble y
merece nuestra protección!

Si nuestra generación todavía sigue
fallando por lo menos podemos
crear los cimientos para la próxima! 💖

Y si, estoy hablando de la naturaleza, de la tierra, del respeto a este lugar. No somos los dueños, somos los hijos y guardianes.🌳

English:
My way of talking of politics
has been the quiet way,
but we can’t stay silent…

To love is to care,
is to not just stand by watching.

How can we truly love a place
and continue to pollute it?
How can we see all that’s falling
apart and not try to fix it?

We need a global vision, but local action.
Bariloche is my home now.
I want to see this place thrive, because it’s amazing! Because it’s worthy of protecting.
Because if our generation is still failing,
we can build the foundations to
something better tomorrow!

Love, Sofi

It’s DAY 2 - Chimney

I’m gonna celebrate each drawing posted as a win!
We made it to day 2 haha! 🎨🥳

Chimneys and roofs, well, they are so romantic in my opinion!

Omg. It’s DAY 1. OAK 🌳
It’s my very first time doing #peachtober 😳

Honestly, I’ve been so scared
of these challenges. 🫣
It’s vulnerable to show
everything I make for a whole month! 🎨🧑‍🎨

But I won’t let fear stop me.

And it’s awesome to know sooo
many artists are in this together. 🍑

So here goes my first post #peachtober26oak
Thank you @peachtober for getting us to our sketchbook & sharing our work!

Obsessed with nature version 1468864 million.
The Patagonian Piche is
just too wonderful to not to draw!
I mean look at it’s cute armour…
Pichi in Mapuche language means little!
Also, you should see the tunnels they make.
I wish I could explore them underground!

Our world is so exciting! 🥹
Do you agree?

Our blue blue planet.

What a privilege to be yours, our planet.
What a gift to breathe your air,
drink your water,
walk your soil.

Maybe our planet shouldn’t really
be called Earth,
if most of it is Ocean.

Maybe we should just call it Blue 💙🦋🐟🐬

Made with: watercolor on A3 paper.

Love, Sofi

Something fascinating about an ecosystem
is that each part of it is super important.

If one link disappears,
everything could disappear.

An ecosystem creates its own balance.
It’s nature self organizing, self regulating.

It’s when something big disrupts it
(like human activity) that the balance is disturbed..

I find this so so interesting.
Everything truly is connected.

That’s why each being,
each species,
each habitat matters!
