“Porous Boundary” A new large format print, UV exposed from one single sheet of 30x42” film. I’m excited to be working in a larger scale after we designed and built this UV exposure table. I’ve been thinking a lot about the physical construction of an image and how that has become a spiritual practice for me, so here is some pictures of the construction of this image. Table co-designed and built by @pvppychvlo_ taken in Brooklyn, New York by @soft_shvde

ETS Riso presents the launch of "Becoming of Flesh" by Ash Allen and Robert Flynt, edited by Luis Juárez. The publication brings together more than five decades of Robert Flynt’s work in dialogue with the artistic practice of Ash Allen. The notion of becoming emerges as a way of naturalizing the condition of homosexual bodies that, through dissidence, have disrupted normative frameworks, opening new ways of understanding masculinity as fluid, non-linear, and in constant transformation.

These images weave together desire, eroticism, spirituality, and visual codes, moving beyond fixed representations to immerse us in layered forms of otherness. In doing so, they challenge the illusion of fixed logic and unsettle the inherited vocabularies of toxic masculinity. Limited edition of 200 numbered copies.

To accompany the launch, an exhibition featuring material from the book will be on view through September 7.

Celebrating 7 years of sobriety today. I feel a lot of gratitude being able to meet this version of myself, or just to experience this version of my life. Despite a lot of challenges I can easily say that these have been the best 7 years of my life so far. 🎰

Prints Available now (shop link in bio) of my recent work “Threshold” in a limited edition of 25. 11x14 Digitally printed on 100 lb Neenah cardstock.
This image is the product of a multi-process exploration of portraiture and the self.
Starting with photography, I use analogue exposure processes to distort the image and render it onto canvas. I scan the canvas and digitally reprint it here on paper.
In my portraiture practice I’m interested in the physical construction of “image”, and the act of transformation via physically pushing a photograph through multiple processes. I explore that “changing of states” as a way to reflect on the nature of change in my internal and external world.
That is one of my obsessions. by @soft_shvde
