We are so excited to share that our friends @softarchitect and the @bastionnashville team have invited us to do a one night take over of their iconic, Michelin-starred restaurant! This intimate 10-course dinner is meant to give you a sneak peak of what’s to come at SourceWater We will take you on a guided tour of Japanese cuisine and culture as the courses progress throughout the evening. The menu highlights the fleeting moments of the micro season both in Japan and our locale. Our quest is seamless integration of southern produce and Japanese seafood in a natural and effortless merger of cultures and food traditions. Distinctly Japanese, uniquely southern. This 10-course menu is priced at $250/person +tax. Optional beverage pairings curated by Bastion sommelier, @bowric are available for $100/guest +tax as well as by-the-glass options you can choose from while you dine. We will have two seatings available for this dinner: 5PM and 8PM. Be sure to select your desired reservation time and beverage preference at checkout. If you plan to dine with another party, we ask that you purchase all tickets on a single transaction so we may best accommodate. The StarChefs Rising Stars Mentor Award goes to a chef who shows up for the next generation. Voted on anonymously by the 2026 Class of Nashville Rising Stars and presented by Vitamix Commercial (@vitamix), it recognizes the individual who has shaped, supported, and uplifted young restaurant professionals in their city. This year's recipient is Chef Josh Habiger (@softarchitect) of Bastion (@bastionnashville). Habiger grew up in Minnesota and started cooking in high school at a local diner called Kate's Kitchen. From there, he moved through Tom Colicchio's Craft, joined the opening team at Grant Achatz's Alinea, and returned home to run the kitchen at Hotel Ivy before landing in Nashville in 2009. He opened The Patterson House with Rising Stars alumni Restaurateurs Benjamin and Max Goldberg, opened The Catbird Seat with Chef Erik Anderson, built the menu at Pinewood Social, and in 2016 opened Bastion, the 24-seat tasting menu restaurant and bar in Wedgewood-Houston that has since earned a Michelin star. As a partner at Strategic Hospitality, Habiger continues to mentor the chefs at Bastion, across the Strategic Hospitality group, and in the city at large. Thank you @beardfoundation for recognizing The Catbird Seat as a finalist for Outstanding Restaurant. We have evolved and taken on new life with every iteration of our incubator, which began as an idea from partner and chef Josh Habiger and continues to grow with the talents and ideals of chefs Andy Doubrava and Tiffani Ortiz. We are deeply proud of them and the entire team who continue to carry that torch forward every day. To be recognized as a finalist for Outstanding Restaurant is a humbling honor, especially to be standing alongside so many restaurants and chefs we admire.

📣Reservations for all of May will be available via Open Table tomorrow, April 1, at 12pm. Reservations are closed the week of May 13-16 for a well deserved staff break.

On 2/28 & 3/1, we celebrated our 11th installment of the Charlie Trotter’s Guest Chef Series “Nashville in the North”!

We featured four of the greatest Chefs who’ve changed the landscape of cuisine in Nashville.

1. Sam Jett @samuel.jett of Audrey @audreynashville
2. Erik Anderson @airick72
3. Josh Habiger @softarchitect of Bastion @bastionnashville
4. Trevor Moran @trevoromorain of Locust @locustnashville

These Chefs created an eight course menu for 90 guests followed by a four course menu for 142 guests. The cuisine was outstanding. The chefs stopped by the tables and the guests came to the kitchen. Young culinarians traveled far to meet the chefs and learn from them. We even had a proposal at the original Kitchen Table! The team never missed a beat.

A big shout out to Sam Jett @samuel.jett for headlining again! He and @drucif3r previously did the Koji Dinner back on September 28th! This time they did two courses inspired from @chefcharlietrotter ‘s cookbooks, including a cabbage/potato/truffle terrine!

Josh Habiger drove from Nashville solo. He quickly mentored some of our regular young chefs and put @jt_d_cook in charge of his beef & scallop tartare with bergamot & brown butter for the entire service!

Ariel Welch @arielmwelch (the Pastry Chef of @locustnashville ) drove up on her own with pounds and pounds of giant ice blocks for her “Tea Ice” dessert! The big show-stopper of the weekend!

Erik Anderson @airick72 and Craig Wilmer @ragz.cw flew in to cook from Calistoga. As you can see by the photos, their duck course was absolutely brilliant with a duck liver pate & orange confiture.

The wines, as always, were curated by the brilliant Master Serafin Alvarado @finoalvarado and the NA cocktail pairing by the Renaissance Man Ryan Castelaz @ryan.castelaz

We’re incredibly honored to be recognized by the State of Tennessee through House Joint Resolution 725, celebrating Strategic Hospitality’s contributions to Nashville’s culinary community.

Over the years, our team has worked to build restaurants that contribute to the fabric of Nashville, celebrating creativity, hospitality, and the vibrant culture of this city we love. The recognition of @bastionnashville, @locustnashville, and @the_catbirdseat with Nashville’s first Michelin stars was a meaningful moment for our team and a reflection of the incredible momentum across the city’s dining community.
