We are so excited to finally release the tickets for the Softer Digital Futures conference 2026.

Over 3 days we will transform The Harmony in Rødvig, Denmark into a magical & soft utopia of workshops, exhibitions, talks, panels, performances, shared meals and collective imagination.

You will enter a parallel universe where we will imagine and create the futures that we long for. It’s a space for meeting likeminded people, getting inspired by the SOFTER network, learning new skills and asking new questions. Together we explore how a softer approach to technology can create more democratic, caring and creative digital futures.

This year we are also relocating SOFTER Lab to the conference, softening up the programme, with more time to participate in workshops, to engage with installations, and more time for collective conversations and to connect with each other.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the beautiful site of The Harmony and enjoy another magical conference with you all!

It’s been almost two weeks since we spent a lovely weekend together at The Bunker and we still feel overwhelmed from from all the love, care, knowledge, feelings, opinions and memorable moments that were shared 💕 We are as always a bit slow with a response, it’s called soft time - there’s still a lot to digest.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone involved - to participants, speakers, collaborators, staff, artists and sponsors - we literally couldn’t have done it without you 🌷 Stay tuned for way more and also more specific thank you’s to come in the nexts weeks ;-))

Join us for an adventure out of the city!

With the Softer Digital Futures conference we always aim to rethink how a ‘tech’ conference can be — both in the programming and the space itself.

We choose locations that you wouldn’t normally associate with a tech conference, by creating spaces that bring us closer to each other and to nature.

And this October, we’re taking it a step further. We’re moving beyond the city and into the countryside, to a small town called Rødvig, just south of Stevns Klint.

Rødvig is located just 1 hour south of Copenhagen. It’s easy to get there, by car or train from the city. We will be arranging transport from Copenhagen, to the venue and back. We can also recommend finding a local place to stay and will share a list of accommodation options.

Over the past couple of months, our community sent us so many DM’s with examples of playful cyberdeck concepts, telling us something along the lines of ‘this is so SOFTER!’ — which eventually evolved into the idea to host a cyberdeck residency in the SOFTER Lab this summer 🫶

Our recent intern Gizem Arici wrote an article diving a little further into the historical context of where cyberdecks come from and proposes why they may have re-entered the zeitgeist, fuelling a new wave of DIY or soft tech.

cables.gl Workshop

cables.gl is a free, browser-based tool for creating real-time interactive art through visual programming. It uses workflows similar to @touchdesigner and vvvv, but runs entirely in the browser – no installation required.

This beginner-friendly workshop will introduce you to the basics of cables.gl and its interface, so no prior experience is necessary (though familiarity with visual programming can be helpful). We’ll explore the different “Operators” that power cables.gl, then move into hands-on experimentation where you’ll build your own interactive patch using inputs like audio and webcam data.

To wrap up, we’ll go through how to publish your project online or embed it directly into your own website.

The softest tech conference in the world is returning this October in a magical location (TBA) in the countryside of Denmark. We cannot wait to spend a long weekend with new and old friends exploring softer directions for digital futures.

Softer Digital Futures is a conference for actions and for taking part in a larger narrative.

It’s a conference for collaboration, participation, for dreaming, feeling hope and creating change.
