"Solemn as The Moon"
.
Passing by to share one of my recent illustrations that serves as an experiment in a few ways. My focus recently has been on color and value and figuring out in what direction to push them so they complement the ideas I have in my head.
.
Sadly I sabotaged this piece a bit with choosing an unfamiliar paper, knowing it's a bit tricky - the Arches hot press. The formulation they have for their hot press is different than other brands. Paint seems to reject flowing, a lot of jagged edges happen. But I decided to finish the painting, note things down and move on.

How is your week going? I'm working on offering prints through InPrint for everyone worldwide in the following week!

"Proliferation" - Mixed media on Arches
.
Hey everyone! Big news! My art is available as prints worldwide from the InPrint website (link in bio) and any future artwork will be added! It would mean the world if any of you check it out!
.
On another note... Been a while since I showed you a finished piece! Partly because I started over from scratch... You can see on the 4th slide the line work I had done for the first iteration. I'm becoming more ambitious with my projects, which means there's new skills to learn. The process is exciting, I just wish certain things would take less time 😐

"Пепел"/ "Ash", Watercolor on Arches
.
Hello!
.
Stopping by to show you my most recent artwork! It was a challenge but so worth it! I had never spent so long on a singular project before. Now I don't feel like I can go back to the way I was working before.
.
The idea for this piece was rather simple. I wanted to draw a character and try my hand at painting a wisteria flower. Shimmery purples have been on my mind a lot as well! Maybe this is some art to welcome the autumn vibes?
.
My monthly Patreon blog post is up and it's the step by step process of this here painting! You can find a link in my bio!
.
Anyway! I hope you're having a good week so far. As always any support on this post will be much appreciated! Painting of a woman done with watercolor. Illustration in mixed media featuring the wisteria flower. by @softhemoon

Hello team!
.
Today I'm starting to switch things up and share with you sketches or graphite/pencil artwork! My friends have been convincing me to post sketches for a while and I've been thinking of ways to make art that's a bit easier than my watercolor illustrations.
.
Through my studies of anatomy and academic drawing graphite has become a reliable medium for me. No preparation, no drying times. I drew this mostly while sitting on the couch this morning.

"The Remnants of Spring" - Watercolor on Arches
.
Hey everyone! How is your week going? For me it's kinda stressful but art is being made! I'm currently setting up my InPrint page from where I'll be offering prints, stickers and other merchandise worldwide!
.
On a different note I quite enjoyed this piece. I think it turned out very autumnal even if I was planning it weeks ago when it was still summer. With today being Mabon I think everything aligned perfectly! Happy second harvest!
.
Are you exploring any seasonal palettes?

I wanted to create something that I knew would work. Sometimes it's good to work within a comfort zone, especially if you've been pushing boundaries with other projects.
.
Today marks a personal anniversary for me as it is my 25th Birthday! I came home to celebrate with my family and it has been very refreshing. I went through a stack of my old and instead of cringing I got filled with a lot of inspiration. I might even revisit some old ideas I've had again!

My first Patreon guide is up! You can find it in my bio!
.
This painting was a bit of an experiment with a limited color palette of cadmium yellow, permanent alizarin crimson and ultramarine. It's also me figuring out how to balance linework and rendering. I've taken a lot of notes after this piece 👽
.
Green came back into my art this year and I am taking it as a sign of growth as it's also the year I quit my pursuit for a regular job. It is my one dream in life and I'm tired of denying myself the chance to try.
.
Hope you had a great weekend!

Let's go! Here is a drawing vaguely in theme with Lammas that just passed. Did you honor the occasion? I just made some fougasse with green olives.
.
On a real note editing this piece was a challenge. And you may notice I did liquify the flowers on the left-hand side because I had squished them against the border of the watercolor pad. Have been having to learn so much these past few months but it's also really exciting! It's no time to be slowing down tbh.
.
Let's have a great rest of the week!

Happy FRIDAY!!!
.
Here we are again showing up to the page. This little illustration turned out to be way more ambitious than planned... Which usually comes with difficulties near the end. Details on a small scale are just so challenging. But we regroup, mark down the hits and misses and move to the next!
.
I would like to soft announce to anyone reading the caption that I am working on a Patreon page!!! It will be available with multiple posts pre-uploaded for you on January 1!!! Expect written out tutorials (with pictures), a monthly zine and update, access to Patreon exclusive streams, voting and anything bonus for when there's time!
.
What type of content would you like to see on my Patreon? Is there anything specific you want to know more about in regards to my technique, style or supplies?
.
Hope to see you in tomorrow's stream!

Sketchbook Diaries IV
.
After my trip to Vienna I was filled with inspiration. And especially the desire to put more into a piece. To spare a bit more effort to draw a detail better or even just include it.
.
For me the best warmup after not having painted with watercolor for a few days was a portrait. This is the second try, as the first got fairly overworked and lost it's value structure.
.
People back in the day spend times longer than most of us do nowadays. We expect finished paintings out of ourselves on a weekly or even daily basis, which is possible but limiting. For this piece I took a few days, working on and off, fixing small things as I go.

Sketchbook Diaries - Entry lll

Feels like summer.... and it is
.
Sharing with you my newest sketchbook watercolor piece that I had a lot of fun making. Have been enjoying pacing my art over a few days at least and that helps so much with catching mistakes or coming up with new composition solutions.

Sketchbook Diaries - Entry ll
.
Happy Litha! Are you celebrating the Summer Solstice?
.
I enjoyed this sketchbook piece so much! It was one of those times where things just fall into place, without the need to erase or correct. Even photographing the artwork was easy.
.
There is something special in green watercolor pigments. There aren't many even to this day yet most of them have so much texture or unique chromas.
.
To honor the occasion for myself I decided to bake a simple herbal focaccia made green with spirulina. Are you baking anything today? Watercolor sketchbook sketch/painting of loose florals and a figure in green and orange by @softhemoon
