Free fall from the hospital bed
Leaving you to wonder how I rose from the dead
It would have served you if I just laid there shrinking and struggling to keep the faith
In something that broke me years ago
So, I picked up all the puzzle pieces laying on the sheets that called me a victim
As the room swirled with pointed fingers around me and footsteps came and went
That old life was spent
Not a nickel left to spare
With gumption, you spew rhetoric that I made my own bed
But you were there to rip the sheets from underneath my comatose shallow breath
With each stab in the back I was still there tapping my feet to Noah
His words and your doubt woke me from the coma
This bitch ain’t going down without the crown of thorns made for me
Thanks for the stories that are now lost memories

33 was when everything changed
the glow was bright, but her eyes weren’t the same color of happy anymore
It got worse at 44
so here we are now with our broken dreams the Love we created burnt at the seams.
The hardships didn’t make us stronger, just had me on my knees, wondering if I could fake it any longer and then I accepted it.
The turbulence continued but my eyes finally lit as I opened my arms to the unknown abyss
I’m now 45 and realize “in sickness and in health” was too much for you to navigate. I don’t blame you. Let me translate: thank you for making me suffer and using broken promises as a buffer like the tide, I ride to the next shore, all the impossible lessons are now the lore I write and sing about there’s no time left to pout, let it all out
Soaring above the clouds. I found my wings in broken dreams.

Good day friends and fellow creatives: album 2 is being rewritten; 90% of the songs being chucked in order to showcase not only truth, but resilience and power of the mind and how thoughts heal or hurt us. Thank you for the tired I feel in my eyes, it means I’m alive
thank you for the weight going up on the scale, it means I’m well fed and alive
thank you for the heat and how it burns my skin, it means that I can feel which also means I’m alive
thank you for my beating heart that loves aggressively and without reason, it means I am alive
Thank you to the tube sticking out of my belly; it fed me so I could stay alive
Thank you to this crazy, misshapen hair because I’ve a shunt that kept me alive
thank you to my friends and our silly laughter at
the “stupid” things that we giggle about: still means I’m alive
thank you for letting me be able to say this, it means I am alive

My rock got his first hair cut in 2 months. Between shuffling me from point A to to point B, changing the bed sheets when my Adult pull up fails me and I am unknowingly drooling and he still kisses me and holds my hand. Don’t settle for less. Love a Ryan. by @sojelli
