INSPIRING INNOVATION AND BUILDING NIGERIA’S DIGITAL FUTURE

What an inspiring and fulfilling day!

I had the pleasure of being the keynote speaker at the African Creators Conference, an exciting event dedicated to promoting digital awareness, encouraging content creators and exploring the enormous opportunities within Nigeria’s growing digital economy.

The energy, creativity and enthusiasm were remarkable! I was particularly proud that the convener of this important initiative is also one of my mentees, demonstrating what young people can achieve when given encouragement and opportunities.

My message was simple: Nigeria must move beyond consuming digital content to creating value, building businesses, generating employment and telling our own stories to the world.

Our young digital creators deserve greater recognition, training, investment and support. The creative economy holds enormous potential for Nigeria’s economic transformation.

I left encouraged, inspired and even more convinced that our digital future is bright if we continue to invest in our people and their ideas.

A wonderful day celebrating creativity, innovation and the power of possibilities!

There are moments in life that become memories you will treasure forever.

Presenting my book, Ideas Do Not Die: Wole Soyinka and the Philosophy of Moral Rebellion, to Professor Wole Soyinka at the Art Ova Yap Exhibition in Port Harcourt on Friday, 31 July 2026, was one of those moments.

To place this book in the hands of the man whose life, courage, and uncompromising commitment to truth inspired its pages was both humbling and deeply fulfilling.

This is more than a book. It is a tribute to the enduring power of ideas and to a man who has spent more than seven decades reminding us that conscience is never negotiable and that freedom must always be defended.

Standing beside Professor Soyinka, I was reminded that while people grow older, great ideas never age. They continue to inspire, challenge, and transform generations.

My sincere appreciation to everyone who made the Art Ova Yap Exhibition such a remarkable celebration of art, culture, history, and intellectual freedom.

Ideas endure. Conscience endures. Freedom endures.

Ideas Do Not Die.

Saturday was a fulfilling day of connection, compassion and purpose.

I was honoured to deliver the opening remarks as Patron of the MKO Temitope Foundation at the Mitcheal Legacy & Caregivers’ Support Meet-Up 2026.

Tinuke and Samuel Temitope’s commitment to turning Mitcheal’s memory into support for other families is deeply moving. Their work reminds us that caregivers need care too, and children with special needs deserve inclusion, dignity and opportunities to thrive.

I also enjoyed a useful discussion with my mentee Godwin, founder and curator of the African Creators Conference. It is encouraging to see young people creating platforms for ideas, talent and opportunity.

A day that reminded me how much difference we can make when we put compassion and purpose into action. ❤️

A few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to interview @sojiadesugba and I must say, the experience was truly enlightening. One thing that stood out to us during the conversation was his selflessness and unwavering commitment to youth development.

Having travelled around the world and gained extensive experience, he made the deliberate decision to return to Nigeria and establish a centre dedicated to helping young people discover and develop valuable skills beyond conventional academic learning and what is typically taught within university walls.

Without his vision and dedication, @accibestcentre would not exist. And speaking from personal experience, being part of this programme has been truly transformative. It has changed my life for the better, and I remain incredibly grateful for the opportunity.

The level of commitment and passion @sojiadesugba has invested in this vision is remarkable. Honestly, if we had just two to five more people with his kind of dedication, the world would undoubtedly be a much better place.

We are fortunate to have someone like him making such a meaningful impact here in Nigeria, and I feel privileged to be part of the programme.

Sometimes, all it takes is one person’s vision, selflessness, and commitment to change the trajectory of many lives.

A joyful celebration of 80 remarkable years! I was delighted to attend the 80th birthday celebration and thanksgiving of Chief (Mrs.) M. Okpanachi, JP, sharing in this special occasion with family, friends and well-wishers.

Still reflecting on Wednesday’s delightful visit by Dr. Kelechi Okoro @healthertainer to the ACCI BEST Centre, Abuja.

One of the memorable moments was presenting her and my mentee, Dr. @drkkay, with copies of my book, “Ideas Do Not Die: Prof. Wole Soyinka and the Philosophy of Moral Rebellion.”

It was particularly heartwarming to bring together two remarkable individuals connected through mentorship, with Dr. Kunle, my mentee, also serving as Dr. Kelechi’s mentor.

For me, the occasion captured something I deeply believe in: ideas inspire people, mentorship connects generations, and knowledge becomes more valuable when shared.

Indeed, ideas do not die. They live on through the people we inspire and the lives we touch.

On Wednesday, I had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Kelechi Okoro @healthertainer to the ACCI BEST Centre, Abuja.

We toured the Centre, exploring our facilities and initiatives in skills development, entrepreneurship and youth empowerment. She also had a productive interaction with the Director of BEST Centre, Dr. Atinuke Ariyo @atinu4u

The highlight of the visit was a delightful surprise! I introduced her to one of my mentees, Dr. Kunle Kakanfo @drkkay , who, interestingly, happens to be her own mentor! What a beautiful reminder that mentorship is a continuous circle of learning, inspiration and shared growth.

As Founder and Chairman of Council of the ACCI BEST Centre, I remain convinced that our greatest investment is in people, the relationships we build and the opportunities we create.

Thank you, Dr. Kelechi Okoro, for a wonderful visit filled with meaningful conversations, inspiring connections and pleasant surprises!

Today, I had the honour of delivering the keynote address at the 20th Anniversary Conference of the Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN) in Abuja.

My message was simple: A $1 trillion economy cannot be built on policy declarations alone. It requires investment, industrialisation, innovation, strong institutions and measurable results.

I emphasised the need for government, the private sector, Chambers of Commerce, financial institutions and the media to work together to unlock Nigeria’s enormous economic potential.

I also challenged economic journalists to go beyond reporting announcements to tracking implementation, demanding accountability and highlighting opportunities for national growth.

The true measure of a trillion-dollar economy is not the size of its GDP, but the prosperity it brings to businesses and ordinary Nigerians.

I was particularly delighted and humbled to receive an award from CICAN in recognition of my contributions. My sincere appreciation to the leadership and members for this honour.

Congratulations to CICAN on 20 years of impactful economic journalism!

Nigeria’s economic future will not be built by ambition alone. It must be built by ACTION!

Building Nigeria’s $1 Trillion Economy Requires Collective Action.

The 1st Deputy President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) @accinigeria , Prof. @sojiadesugba, has called for stronger collaboration among government, the private sector, financial institutions, Chambers of Commerce and the media to accelerate Nigeria’s ambition of building a $1 trillion economy.

Delivering the keynote address at the 20th anniversary celebration of the Abuja Chapter of the Commerce and Industry Correspondents Association of Nigeria (CICAN), Prof. Adesugba emphasised that achieving this target requires productive investment, policy consistency, stronger local enterprises and measurable economic outcomes.

He identified agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, mining, digital services, construction, logistics and export-oriented industries as key drivers of economic growth, while stressing the need for improved infrastructure, affordable financing, skills development and a more business-friendly environment.

He also highlighted the media’s critical role in promoting economic accountability, providing accurate reporting and tracking policy implementation, urging journalists to look beyond announcements and assess the real impact of policies on businesses and citizens.

As a strategic link between businesses and government, ACCI remains committed to promoting investment, enterprise development, trade and policies that support a productive, competitive and inclusive Nigerian economy.

Congratulations to CICAN on 20 years of professional service and contribution to Nigeria’s commerce and industry sector.
