Thick ropes form the structure of Tokyo Kankan’s booth at Gift Show, evoking the rigging of a sailing ship and the frame of a desert tent.

The ropes support projecting hanger rails and the columns and beams. Their open arrangement gives the products a defined setting while keeping views through the booth.

The Japanese text follows below.

For iki ESPRESSO’s booth at Tokyo Cafe Show, we brought two sides of the brand into one simple setting.

The Kiyosumi-Shirakawa café draws on the everyday lifestyle of Oceania and also supports people opening their own cafés. Our booth design presents these two activities together, keeping the brand’s concept clear.

The Japanese text follows below.

A café where art can be experienced through everyday use.

Art Gallery Café CHACHAKA was designed for an owner who is also a lacquer artist. Alongside the gallery displays, lacquerware is used to serve coffee and food, bringing the material into guests’ hands.

The layout allows the balance between gallery and café to change. Shelves of work, movable seating and the coffee roaster share one interior. Looking at a piece, using it, and spending time around it become part of the same visit.

Note: CHACHAKA closed its Shimosa-Nakayama café on June 2, 2026, as the owner planned a move to Nagano.

The Japanese text follows below.

「Art Gallery Café

Interwoven lines give the Japan Pavilion its roof.

For METALEX in Bangkok, SOL style designed a pavilion bringing Japanese companies together under a framework inspired by kumihimo, traditional braided cords. The overlapping lines express the precision and care of Japanese technology. Seen from below, the structure forms a layered pattern; from the aisles, its illuminated silhouette continues through the exhibition hall.

SOL style handled the creative direction and booth design.

The Japanese text follows below.

Copper becomes both the surface and the character of a light.

KAGEE is a portable light that brings the copper of a circuit board into its visible design. Patterns spread across the front, while the working circuitry sits on the reverse and lights the space behind the panel.

An internal battery allows the light to move from place to place. Over time, the copper’s colour and texture change naturally. The repeated shape gives each pattern a common frame, with a soft field of light extending around it.

The Japanese text follows below.

Two ways to connect with drinks, within a single venue.

At Escape by cocktail works, we placed a fully leather-upholstered counter and softly glowing bottle shelves within a deep blue-green interior. The bar near the entrance is a place to settle in and enjoy a conversation.

Further inside is an adjoining lounge-style space where guests can purchase drinks. Surrounded by even deeper tones, they lift small hanging bulbs to illuminate the bottle shelves and choose a bottle that feels right. From looking across the counter to exploring close at hand, moving between the spaces changes their relationship with the drinks.

Address: Bunkyo Garden Gate Tower 104, 1-1-1 Koishikawa, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, Japan

The Japanese text follows below.

「Escape」by cocktail works

Bringing the courtyard’s dappled sunlight into the dining experience.

A memorable collaboration between three designers: SOL style principal Ito, his former mentor Toshihito Okura, and Yuji Tanabe.

“Kamakura Washoku Kusunoki,” designed for a site on Komachi-dori in Kamakura.

A courtyard surrounded by greenery, with dining areas overlooking it through the windows. The wooden counter and tables, together with the textures of the ceiling, give each area its own sense of calm.

Up close, the counter reveals the edges and grain of the wood. Looking across the interior, these textures connect the dining areas with the greenery of the courtyard. From the courtyard filled with natural light to the wood-lined interior, the photographs take us through the different places to sit and spend time.

Completed in 2016.

The Japanese text follows below.

A renovation for muller Daikanyama, an eyelash and eyebrow salon. We created an interior filled with soft light. Slender frames and rounded shelves hold plants, gently dividing the space.

Sheer curtains at the treatment area by the window let light through while creating a calm place to spend time. Sightlines extend from the entrance to the back, with shelves and plants changing the view along the way. The salon values giving each customer individual attention and helping them leave with the feeling of going somewhere afterward. We gave that idea form through light and the interior.

The Japanese text follows below.

A place to wash hands, meet, and take a break.

At Mizuta Seisakusho's Moritomo No. 2 Factory, a four-metre sink with eight taps stands at the entrance to the dining and meeting space. Its illuminated basin makes the act of washing hands visible from the glass-walled meeting room.

Beyond it, tables can be arranged for different ways of gathering. Warm timber, daylight, and lighting made with the company's technologies bring the factory's work into the everyday space.

The Japanese text follows below.

A playful touch to a line of light.

Created before our transition to LED lighting, “STICK” combines the slender glow of a slim fluorescent tube with circular forms and a cord wound around them. Different heights and colours create a rhythm of light.

In the early days of SOL style, we had an idea and a place to exhibit it, but did not know how to bring it to life. We reached out by email and phone to ask for help with fabrication.

Yamato generously agreed to help. Using their expertise in 3D machining of resin, they brought our idea to life with remarkable quality.

From an idea to a piece ready to exhibit.
A valued company that supported our work from the very beginning.

Fabrication support: Yamato Co., Ltd.

The Japanese text follows below.

SOL style
