𓇸 Introducing my new show Aspects on Cashmere Radio ☼

@cashmere_radio is an independent volunteer-run internet radio station. Radio can only exist because of the community that supports it. Listening to community radio is one way to discover and support indie artists in an era where their livelihood is threatened by streaming platforms.

I found Cashmere Radio through its focus on experimental music with original programming concepts. I was a regular listener of Katiusha’s Above the Clouds show on Cashmere years ago before I moved to Berlin.

I’m excited to present Aspects, my new show on Cashmere Radio.

Earth moves through the universe in a kaleidoscopic dance with the sun, moon, and the planets. Each is in relationship to each other and to us. Aspects is a musical guide to interpret the cosmic calendar, the waxing and waning of the moon, and the solar cycle of life from equinox to solstice.

The first episode will air Sunday, May 31st from 9p-11p CET to coincide with the Blue Moon in Sagittarius. taken in Berlin, Germany by @solalex__

Aspects 04 w/ DJ Chichi

Recorded at home with dear friend @djchi.chi on the night of the autumn equinox. Their selections are always on point.

I’m sharing a few of the tracks I wanted to highlight from this one. A modern masterpiece from a fave label, @companionmelb, a new agey prog housey downtempo gem from a 1992 VHS for sexual education, and a stripped back remix of a classic trip hop tune that’s giving Kid A vibes.

It’s up on soundcloud and archived on Cashmere’s website for your on demand listening enjoyment ☺️ by @solalex__

♎︎ Welcoming 𝒟𝒥 𝒞𝒽𝒾𝒸𝒽𝒾 as my next guest for Aspects on Cashmere Radio ☼

We’ve co-created so many projects over the years, so naturally I wanted to get her involved to add her unique selections in the series.

We recorded this one the night of the transition of the Equinox, fresh off last vacations of the summer and with the dark long twilight of fall looming ahead.

There’s a serious intensity of Autumn nights which is in contrast to the sun-kissed Summer days. I wanted to give a backing soundtrack for that transition. And then let Chichi respond with whatever she picks, going back and forth for 90 minutes and letting our selections respond naturally to each other.

Hope you enjoy ✌️ by @solalex__

I’m thrilled to present a project dear to my heart.

On the summer solstice, I recorded a set during the sunset.

I have a deep connection to this place. I grew up surrounded by mountains and I have always returned to them for inspiration.

I often practice walking meditation in the mountains. During these walks, I see examples of the interbeing of all things. Through dance meditation I feel these connections deeply.

Now available to watch on YouTube.

This summer for the solstice, I brought my mixer and CDJs from my home in Berlin to a special place in the Alps to realize a dream.

Now it’s finally ready to be shared with the world.

On September 15th, I’m excited to present a dance meditation on deep time on YouTube.

~~~~~
Cet été, pour le solstice, j’ai emporté ma mixer et deux CDJ depuis Berlin, où je vis, jusqu’à un lieu unique dans les Alpes pour réaliser un rêve.
C’est enfin prêt à être partagé avec le monde entier.
Le 15 septembre, je me réjouis de vous présenter une méditation dansante sur les temps anciens sur YouTube.
Aspects 03
new moon solar eclipse
For this third edition of Aspects, I wanted to broadcast on @cashmere_radio a listen along concept for the solar eclipse on August 12th.
The music slowly unfolds until the totality, then slowly increases pace as the sun returns briefly before it sets.
Listening to this on Templehof field with all my friends was a magic experience.
It’s up on SoundCloud and archived on Cashmere’s website. Enjoy ✌️ by @solalex__
⛢♊ Aspects 02 w/ DJ Neptunes
Archived on @cashmere_radio & Soundcloud
Aspects 02 aired to coincide with the beginning of transit of Uranus in Gemini, a seven year cycle which occurs every 84 years that signifies a revolution in the way we communicate.
We spent two hot Berlin heatwave hours in the studio at Cashmere sharing music fitting the occasion and discussing what the themes of this transit signify personally and collectively.
No clips on this one due to copyright limitations for the upload, so you’ll just have to listen back if you’re interested to hear the tracks.
Thank you to the sweetest @marko.mit.k for joining me for this project and bringing your knowledge and passion for the topics we discussed! by @solalex__
𓇸 Introducing 𝒟𝒥 𝒩𝑒𝓅𝓉𝓊𝓃𝑒𝓈 my first guest for Aspects on Cashmere Radio ☼
I met @marko.mit.k at the first edition of @starseedsberlin when we had a synchronistic chat about the meaning behind the name of the party I co-create.
He is a multi-disciplinary artist with a skill for noticing and exploring the symbolic meanings underneath the surface reality. The name DJ Neptunes is inspired by the ruler of Pisces, God of the Oceans, Neptune. The energy which dissolves and merges with the sound.
We share a vision of the dancefloor as a space for connection as well as for meditation. Where people feel safe to feel, flow, and connect through sound.
We’ll be live in the @cashmere_radio studio from 4p CET / 10a PST on June 30th to select music and discuss the transit of Uranus in Gemini, a seven year cycle that signifies a revolution in how we communicate. Tune in or stop by! by @solalex__
🎑 Aspects 01 w/ Solalex
Archived on @cashmere_radio & Soundcloud
Aspects 01 aired with the Blue Moon in Sagittarius, which signifies trusting your intuition to follow your own path.
It felt playfully appropriate to begin this story with soundtrack-adjacent music fit for storytelling. Plus it mirrored the cinematic quality of my current season of life.
Support these touring artists whose albums are out this summer by buying tickets to their shows: @cd___player, @eartheater, & @aleladiane.
Full track list is at the end. taken in Berlin, Germany by @solalex__
