Despite all the noise, we are still delivering on our promises:

- Solar with $0 installation costs, ie truly ZERO out-of-pocket, in fact no solar costs until the system is actually on.

- clean energy at lower prices than what traditional utilities are currently charging

- protection against the massive rate hikes those utilities are charging

- (currently) optional battery attachments at affordable rates for maximum protection from the potential chaos of a near future where the grid is so stressed the possibility of a blackout increases 8-10fold.

Install Day!

Helped this homeowner reduce their electric bill by > 30% … and that’s just in year 1.

As the utilities continue to charge wtv they want and raise rates yearly however much they want, this home is protected and will have lower, predictable rates — at least for the next 25 years.

It’s pretty simple…

What do you think is going to cost more, 🛢️/ ⛽️? Or energy harvested from the ☀️ ?

whatever has kept you from taking a serious look at going solar in the past, isn’t there a chance you might just not know the whole story?

The way things are going, in 20 years (or maybe 10?) there may be fewer homes without solar than with. It might even be harder to sell a home without its own solar system. Besides, what are you going to do when your grandkids look up at you in awe and ask, “so you had a chance to stop using oil and gas and you didn’t take it?”

Hate to be all “Doom & Gloom” — but we are in the midst of an electron shortage. Chief among the issues facing the U.S. energy supply is the outdated grid.

If over 70% of all transformers are over 25 years old, how soon does your utility company have to replace/upgrade them?

Who, ultimately, will pay for that?

Heyyo! You could call me “Mr Sunshine” but I’m just pointing out what’s evident to us all:

The sun Does shine, even in winter — and often those homes with solar panels will experience a sooner snow melt than others… we were even able to install during the better weeks of the season (naturally we did have to postpone some projects when #WinterStormFern and #BlizzardHernando did their worst) —

But the mission is clear : Connect People to the Cleanest Energy On Earth — and to do that in a way that protects them from the abominable high rates of traditional, polluting energy companies.

If you’re tired of wondering just how high your electric bill will this summer, let alone next year — then it is time to take a serious look at what going solar will look like for your home.

I made a new friend— his name is FRED. He’s a straight talker, and he gets all his facts straight from @u.s.departmentoflabor statistics. So don’t listen to me, listen to FRED:

- 50 years ago, the avg price of electricity was a nickel per kWh
- with regular inflation it rose 2-3% per year, meaning it doubled in 25-30 years… until recently
- in the last 4 years of this graph (which ends in 2024), electric rates rose by as much as they did in the previous 20– about 50% , in other words.

If you live in a densely populated area, chances are your rates have been above $0.20 for awhile. In NJ, they rose by 17-20% in just one year (2025). NYSEG, Central Hudson, and ConEd (who owns O&R) wanted to raise rates btw 13-33% this year… for delivery alone.

Are you prepared for your electric bills to double in the next 5 years? The next 2?

How long before your electric bill resembles your mortgage payment?

Home solar may be your way out.

A beautiful day for an install!

Originally scheduled for late Jan, W.S. Fern had other plans for our intrepid install crew… as per our customer and Mother Nature’s wishes we came back on a balmy day in early February to connect this home and the people in it to the cleanest energy on earth.

As soon as it’s turned on, they’ll be paying less than they pay now to their current utility company for the same amount of energy, only it will have been generated by our beautiful partner in the sky, The Sun.

🌞 = ⚡️ (or ☀️ 🟰 💡 ?)

Grateful to work for a company that gets it done, @sunrunsolar — and grateful for this team that got the install done on a sunny but very brisk winter day!

A wild first year with Sunrun. Grateful to have a job that makes an impact by helping people and the planet. Extra grateful to work for a company that values its customers and employees (took some time off to spend with a newborn last year) alike — while also being able to confidently say the multi-decade promises we make will be kept! Just getting started…
