a letter to a dear, dear friend, I ALMOST DIED LAST YEAR AND I DON’T THINK I PROCESSED THAT UNTIL NOW.

anyhow may is almost over and that was really a long time ago, and i want to tell you about these gorgeous pictures we took in @farehaaabid’s mother’s shalwar kameez that we almost lost to the wind that day. i hope it’s happy in islamabad - but i want it to know that if it had given me another chance, i could have given it a good life. a happy life. anyways. here i am now, a year later.

if you were here, i know exactly what you’d ask me. You’d ask if i miss you. if i love you. why do i want you go home? do i think of you? do i remember your face or the sound of your voice? to that i say:

i miss you. i love you. i want to go home because i’m not home. i think of you everyday. i forget what your face looked like, and the sound of your voice. but i still think of you, the concept of you, everyday. i am shocked that i still do, because the truth is, a part of me always thought that i would be alone forever, in the long, unforgiving march of time. but i know now that you are with me through it all, your hand on mine, palm against palm. i still remember the day i found you wearing my necklace, the one i’d lost weeks before. i didn’t say anything to you about it. i stole a pair of your socks instead. sometimes, i see them in the closet and i can see your face again.

but dear, now i must go, because i have work, as always. until we meet again, know that i am here for you, and that i love you, and that i’ll come home soon. taken in Karachi, Pakistan by @solarmarestudio
