You will have moments when you wonder if you’re smart enough, prepared enough, or capable enough.

Stop doubting yourself.

every lecture, late-night study session, clinical rotation and difficult exam is preparing you for a real person who will eventually place their trust in you

after 37 years of practicing podiatric medicine and surgery, that responsibility has never become ordinary

medicine has a way of making its lessons unforgettable.

one missed detail. one wrong assumption. one moment when you realize you should have known better.

the sting passes, but the lesson stays.

medical school, residency, surgery, nursing, private practice—every stage of a healthcare career will humble you.

the goal isn’t to pretend you’ll never get anything wrong.
it’s to own it, learn quickly, adjust, and never need the same lesson twice.

mistakes can become experience—but only if you’re willing to learn from them.

37 years in medicine could’ve broken a mf.

But here’s the distinction: I love the work. I hate the f’d-up healthcare system surrounding it.

Too many medical students and residents are shown only one future: become an employee of corporate medicine.

Private practice is still a way forward—and young physicians deserve to be taught how to build one.

After 37 years, I don’t want out of medicine. I want to help build a version of it that young physicians can stay in without losing themselves.

imho ✌️

Staying buoyant and cheerful no matter what I am going through is a choice I made long ago: I don’t let most things bring me down.

I’m known for my positivity, and I consider it a real strength. It’s a quality I chose—and continue to practice.

After 37 years in medicine, I know the value of managing my emotions. I can’t control every situation, but I can choose how I respond.

For doctors, nurses, residents and medical students, imho— that’s a skill worth mastering.

Choices were made 😂

Podiatry school over medical school
—definitely the harder road in the end.

Private practice over corporate medicine
—you can make it happen. Autonomy comes at a price, but it definitely wins.

A high energy, unbelievably fierce woman over a quiet, demure woman
—IYKYK.

A large family over a quiet house
—made a lot of spicy babies.

Yasssss… there is stress 🫪

But…

10/10 would recommend.
Buckle up.
Not for the weak. 😂
