The French away kit hits different. That minty ice tone isn’t just a vibe , it’s a straight nod to the Statue of Liberty, tying France to one of the most iconic symbols of freedom. Nike cooked up a colour that feels fresh, modern and full of meaning. Proper heritage flex in a football shirt. #nikefootballً #equipedefrance #statueofliberty #soleknowledge #bubblekoppe by @soleknowledge_official

Every time I see that star above the Spanish crest I feel it in my chest. 2010 was not only Spain’s moment. For us South Africans it was magic we hosted and a memory we carry too. The Nike Kukini was designed by Sean McDowell and came out in the year 2000. The design is very unique and a great departure from your typical running shoe. The spider web upper was inspired by an Olympic ski suit that Sean had seen on a skier, featuring a giant spider web. The water theme of this shoe is related to the entire design and design language. The Kukini was not designed simply as a running shoe, but rather a shoe for triathletes. Something designed to be easy on and off and capable on land and in water. Looking at the sole, it's markedly different than most Nike runners. The majority of Nikes running shoes feature a waffle tread pattern or elements of a waffle that pay homage to Nikes early beginnings and Bill Bowerman using his wife's waffle iron to create soles for Nike runners. The reason for the unique tread pattern on the Kukini is largely functional, or at least was functional in concept. As this shoe was inspired by triathletes, land and water, the original concept called for drainage holes in the sole. You can definitely see where some of these drainage holes would have been, had Nike been able to produce these as designed. While the Kukini didn't end up with the drainage holes through the bottom, another shoe did. 3 years after the official Kukini, Nike released a Kukini 2. The Kukini 2 was inspired by the same concept, but this time the drainage holes went full production. There's not much I'd like to see more than a "Protro" Kukini 1 with functional drainage holes. While I'm not holding my breath Nike has released other shoes that spent years existing only in control art. Would you be into this idea? Thanks to Bernie @soleknowledge_official for inspiring this post with his review of the Nike Soaker. A casual looking shoe with functional drainage holes that I never even knew about. #nikekukini #nikealphaproject #sneakerknowledge #nikejapan #sneakerhead by @soleknowledge_official
Took the Nike ACG Soakers straight into the rock pools and they showed up. Drainage, grip, flexibility… all the little design details finally make sense when you’re ankle deep in the wild. Some sneakers are made for streets. These were made for stories. ACG stays undefeated. #soleknowledge #bubblekoppe #acg #nikesoakers #outdoorsneakers by @soleknowledge_official
