I wish I could say that I walked into this feeling confident and fearless. In reality, I was plagued with fear and doubt. I felt like I didn’t belong amongst the crowd. Prior to this, my longest run ever was 14 miles. I knew that I was going to have to find something within myself that outweighed the heaviness of fear. At the finish of lap 6, 25 miles in, I thought I had nothing left to put on the course. Dry heaving, stumbling, confusion and cramping were all signs that I was done. I suddenly realized that I had actually been here before. New terrain but same grit from the past. As long as I could think, I could try. If I could walk, I’d do so until I could run again. Nickel by nickel until it was done. 43.35 miles, 18 miles past what I thought was my limit. I am still not done. Thank you to @shrdcts for not only coaching me, but being prepared for anything. I will follow you into the shadows no questions asked. THIS LAP. THIS MILE. Thank you @bpnsupps @bareranch @josh_j_holley @nickbarefitness for putting on an incredible event for extraordinary people. Being my father’s daughter, I understood how I could impact the world with the smallest interactions. Since joining, I knew I wanted to take every opportunity to contribute to the greater good of the world. As a leader, I have the power to transfer energy upward and downward. It is up to me to decide what kind of energy I bring. What better way to end my 9 years of service than a one of a kind mission, where the people are hand selected and trusted to bring the fight day in and day out. A mission that goes unnoticed by most of the world because we do our jobs so well. I am so fortunate to be amongst the few. Thank you, Joint Staff. ⚡️ by @solesndsouls
