I thank @solespacelab for this wonderful opportunity to capture an amazing experience for @beyondtheballexperience and @osaschool! This Sneaker Lab brought @microsoftcopilot Experts to teach the students how to use AI in design. There were So Many highlights of this experience, the Speakers, the Design Instructors and of course the amazing students! taken in Oakland School for the Arts by @solespacelab

Art of Sneakers Vol. 3 🎨👟
For Oakland Style Week, we activated a vacant, ex-shoe store and filled it with a pop up art exhibition highlighting sneaker designers, customizers and all around sneaker artists from the Bay Area 🌉 and beyond 🌍. The exhibition only lasted the weekend but we are building a community of sneakerheads and artists and bringing this artform into the spotlight where it belongs. Stay on the lookout for more events coming from our leader @solespacelab the incredible creative mind that has elevated sneaker culture in Oakland with a focus on Upcycling, Recreation and Sustainability.

Also big shoutout to @bruceleefoundation for the generous loans of these rare Bruce Lee Kicks and Raffle Items. The show wouldn’t have been the same without that touch from one of the greatest of all time!

And the @valkyries for their collaboration on the SneakHER design workshop which was featured as well!

Art of Sneakers will be back!

What an incredible week at Camp Bruce Lee!

This July, teenagers from across Alameda County came together in Oakland for a week of martial arts, creativity, storytelling, and community inspired by Bruce Lee’s life and philosophy.

From Kung Fu and Capoeira to sneaker design with SoleSpace Lab, campers explored courage, belonging, self-expression, and connection. A special highlight was welcoming Shannon Lee, who shared stories about her father, led a calligraphy workshop, and joined the youth for a Q&A.

Camp Bruce Lee brought Bruce Lee’s philosophy together with BCN’s Elements of Beloved Community to create a truly special experience for young people.
