may 22nd 2025, the fateful day that started the greatest journey of my life thus far… solflower was born🌻

one year ago today, one of my closest friends threw me off the deep end and signed me up for a gig in south… and truly, the rest is history. what started as me randomly playing around on a deck at the end of april off a whim became the discovery of a passion that would completely change my life. this has been the culmination of my personal growth for the last 365 days… i didn’t even realise i had the ear for this at first, it was the people around me who saw it in me before i saw it in myself. they pushed me toward something that would become so deeply tied to my spirit.

music has always lived inside of me. since i was a child, it’s been woven into my bones, my emotions, my soul, my essence. but never in a million years did i think i’d become a house DJ😂 and yet somehow, this path found me exactly when i needed it most.

the growth, expansion, healing and self discovery i’ve experienced through this journey has been indescribable. in some of my absolute darkest moments.. through grief, loss, heartbreak and tumultuous pain i could never wish on another human being.. the art of music held me. this journey held me. there were moments where DJing quite literally pulled me back to myself when i felt like i was disappearing. and for that, i will forever be grateful.

to everybody who has supported me, booked me, danced with me, believed in me, encouraged me, reposted me, spoken my name in rooms i wasn’t in, and poured love into solflower… thank you from the depths of my heart. thank you to @sotunights for taking a chance on me🥹 and @karrilee_ i owe so much of where i am now to you. thank you for creating spaces that nurture young and upcoming talent and allow people like me to blossom.

one year down… and somehow it still feels like this is only the beginning🌻💫 here’s to year 2.

i made this about a month ago… given the events of the last couple weeks i think it was fitting to post today🕊️💛
no matter the hardships, no matter the loss of friendships, no matter the violent opposition, no matter the weight of the grief, just find a way to keep going🫶🏽
losing 4 friends in 6 months has rattled my spirit greatly… but i’ll find a way, i know they’re watching over me🤲🏽
