I'm very thankful that I was once again entrusted with saving memories for this lovely, stable gang. Six years have passed, so horses and people have moved, but new has arrived 🐴

The autumn colours started for what I felt a bit earlier this year (late September), so we got to capture a bit of the autumn shades for these mini sessions, which was lovely 🍂

Everyone did so well, children as adults. Always as lovely to meet you guys 🤎

Sunshine, on an autumn day, is often very welcomed between the rainy and grey days. To feel the warm sun on your skin and fresh breeze. I feel that, at least.

However, weirdly enough, do I personally prefer clouds during autumn sessions. The combo with sun and vibrant autumn shades often creates strong colours and strong contrasts, and I, for some reason, often struggle to find a way to edit these that I like. Probably because I'm not someone who likes the mixture of "strong and colourful" in my daily life as well. Almost like it collides with my personality? It just doesn't resemble me.

But you can't call the weather saying, "I order clouds for next Sunday, thank you." You then have to lock in and do the best you can, and still make it work in a style that resembles your work.

A great tip from me is to find a way to comfortably be able to know "I can fix this" when shooting in settings that might not be your optimal go-to. Very much for your own sanity, so you can be ready with your tea or coffee while diving into the editing process in peace and not stress 🙏

Catching the dancing forest shadows from the autumn sun 🍂🌲

From a session a few years ago.
I had never had a photoshoot with a cat like this before. It was a challenge! But the owner had trained beforehand so both would be ready for the session, which made it a lot easier. Was such a fun session 🤎

The Dutch dancing queen 🖤

Friesian mare Diva by the lake of Hjälmaren a few years ago. I got a couple of shots not in focus from that session, and I'm still bummed about those, haha! But why not still use them? Just make them a little artsy. It fits well into the latest trends, I would say. Perfection in the imperfect, or what they say 🤌🏻

Two Irish Cob's from a breed show many, many years ago, edited in more of a fine art style.
Horses with a lot of white, for example, tobiano, sabino, and splash white work so well with a light and bright background. The extra white just contrasts the horse coat markings so well 🤍

Here are a few more photos from my session with the North Swedish Horse Wige in @wadkoping_orebro last month.

Wadköping is a built-up open-air museum with historical buildings that, from the beginning, had their original addresses from around the county and close areas, in a hope to actually save and preserve the old buildings and its history. The building on the last photo is one of the oldest from the 1600s and is called "Borgarhuset" (City hall).

Thank you @nordsvensken_wige for wanting to be the model for this unique session ❤️

After the thunderstorm

Millions of mosquitoes and a slightly stifling air filled this session that was almost cancelled because of a summer thunderstorm rolling in. Luckily, did it go over quite quickly, and we decided to pursue with the session anyway. Lupins are not native to our fauna and are seen as invasive. But I can not help but to love them despite that. They are such an early summer classic.

This session is from June in 2021 with the Lusitano/PRE mix Melvin.

Here are a few photos from my session at @wadkoping_orebro a little while back.
Wige fit right in amongst the historical buildings, and especially with his buckskin golden coat!

Wadköping is an open-air museum with original buildings that, from the beginning, had an original location around the county. In the first building is Wige standing infron of what was called the King's cottage, which has its origins from 1400.

Thank you @nordsvensken_wige for wanting to be the model for this unique session ❤️

I also met the beautiful Silver again during the same session as my previous post. He is a North Swedish Draft Horse with the colour double cream, which is not an accepted colour within the breed. So it is not a coat you see often, which just makes him just more special 🧡

I've been taking photos of him for 9 years!

Thank you to his owner, Sirpa, that I got to have a session with him 🙏

The one month old miniature shetland pony Fiddelie and her mother Tingeling from my most recent session 🧡

It was so cosy to pet and scratch a foal again. It is years since last time. Fiddelie and her mother have the absolute most beautiful pasture with a small pond with a rich bird life, as well as a swan pair living there 🦢

She was so curious, and as soon as she learned that the new human likes to cosy - was she there within two seconds if you sat down, haha! 🧡

Thank you to her owner, Carina, that I could come over 🥰

The North Swedish Draft Horse Silver among the bird-cherry tree blooming a few years ago. He has the unusual colour double cream, which is not an approved colour for the breed, sadly. But it only makes him more special and is one of my favourite models 🖤

I edited the last photo in a bit of a vintage touch and played with the motion blur to get the effect of "captured in the moment". I've seen so many of those types of photos being shared all over Instagram, and I've loved them all so much!

The Iberian boy Kiwi from our wood anemones session back in April 🤍

Choosing him for this session was truly the right pick. His white coat matched the spring flowers perfectly. The big ancient oak trees also really match his noble aura as well.

Kiwi is a Lusitano gelding that competes in working equitation in his daily life together with his owner Linnéa 🦄

This location acts as a pasture for animals during the spring months to help keep the area open and healthy. Everyone from schoolkids, families, and regular dog walkers visits this location every year during spring to witness the ocean of wood anemones. It is open for everyone to both walk in the forest and on the paths and even pick the flowers, but of course, with caution, even if the flowers are not protected 🤍🙏
