Just a common summer dump with a revelation.
My whole life, I have felt confused, like I was not passionate about anything. I was denied by the college I had basically devoted my soul to and went to the only other college I had applied to because it was my only other choice. I never knew what I wanted to do. My first mistake was confusing my passion for everything as a passion for nothing. I wish I could learn about everybody and everything.
I have realized that getting to play this little game called life already makes me so lucky. I will never be young again, and the more I understand that, the more it hurts. But at least I was young once.
So many people get caught up in moving themselves up an imaginary ladder that they forget they are already on top just because they get to be here. And they get so caught up in what makes them look successful that they forget their passions. And that a career can’t be there for them when they die. When you croak you will be surrounded by those who love you. No amount of money will make your soul feel contempt in those final breaths.
So my message is that the world is beautiful. There are so many things to do and so many feelings to feel. Roll your window down and sing. Dance when nobody’s watching. Smile when work sucks (this one’s hard for me). And be happy you get to even be here on this crazy Earth and see these beautiful masterpieces God made. Be passionate and help others out. Also Roll tide and UA is the greatest place on earth.

Dear Fozzie,
Mock Trial is like an annoying brother. You feel like it takes up everything and your whole life. At some days it seems like the worst part of your day until the year is over and you realize you wouldn’t rather have spent every second of your free time with anyone else. If nothing else in my life is stable, I always had you guys to fall back on. You guys grew not only my love and skill in mock trial but you guys grew me and a human and staying up to 2 am for amazing conversations are memories that stick with your soul forever.

To Jacob,
Even though we bully you, you are an amazing captain and an even better friend. You taught me so much and i would not rather compete under anyone else. No matter what you do in life you will succeed. Also let’s hit social bites later.

Thank you. Thank you Lord for allowing me to run when so many people aren’t able. Thank you to my relay for picking up when I was slow and I was happy to return that favor. Thank you to my brothers and coaches for sticking through the terrible hot practices just for the result. Finally, Thank you Horseshoe Bend for the experiences you gave me.
