In queste poesie, Suleiman Al Farra racconta Gaza non solo come luogo di guerra, ma come spazio di vita che continua a pulsare. Ogni immagine — il mare, la sabbia, l’acqua che manca, l’alba che tarda — diventa un frammento di un’esistenza sospesa, in cui la fragilità quotidiana si intreccia alla determinazione di restare umani.
Il cielo ci guarda da lontano è il racconto poetico di un giovane che ha perso la casa, che dorme in una tenda, che corre ogni mattina verso un camion d’acqua per sopravvivere. Ma è anche la storia di una resilienza quieta, di un respiro che continua nonostante tutto.

Suleiman's story is one of them.

A young Palestinian man, with a degree in journalism and photography, who lost everything, except his dignity.
Today, he lives in a camp for displaced people, without water, without food, and yet continues to care for the children around him with moving strength and grace.

His eyes say it all:
He still believes.
Believes he can rebuild.
Believes that someone sees him.
That someone will care.
That help is still possible.

In mezzo a tanta distruzione e incertezza, ad Al-Mawasi (Gaza sud) oggi abbiamo fatto qualcosa che va oltre il semplice dovere: abbiamo portato la vita. In un luogo dove anche un bicchiere d’acqua pulita è un miracolo quotidiano, ogni goccia caricata e distribuita è un abbraccio a una comunità che resiste con dignità.
Portiamo un aiuto concreto, una cisterna alla volta, per non far spegnere la speranza.

This simple cup of coffee has so much meaning behind it

When you "buy me a coffee", you're letting this young man and his family know they're not forgotten and they matter.

A coffee purchase pays for a few fresh vegetables or fruit to go with their main meal for the day.

Buying a cup of coffee means this family can drink water that isn't full of disease and they can cook with clean pots.

Buying a latte or two buys medication and helps to pay for esim cards so they can connect with the outside world.

Buying coffee for @solomfarra is more than just a gift; it is a reminder to not fall into despair because there are good people who care.

I am that little ball on the pool table.

A silent soul struck by forces it never chose,
rolling through collisions, bruised by every touch,
changing direction with every wound.

The cue follows me like fate,
cold, patient, and inevitable.
Every strike sends me running,
thinking I have escaped,
thinking I have found another chance.

But the pockets wait in silence.

I watch the other balls disappear,
one by one,
swallowed by the darkness beneath the green world.
And still I run.
Still I fight.
Still I dream of staying.

Yet every path,
every victory,
every desperate escape,
leads closer to the same hole.

Perhaps life is nothing more than this:
a fragile ball,
chased across a table too small for forever,
believing it controls its journey,
while destiny holds the cue.

And in the end,
after all the noise,
all the collisions,
all the struggles to remain,

we fall into the pocket
that has been waiting for us
since the very first strike.

Guardare gli occhi di questi bambini, illuminati di fronte a un momento di dolcezza, lascia senza parole. In quel vuoto iniziale che si trasforma in pura meraviglia, c’è tutto il senso di ciò che facciamo.

O Suleiman, @solomfarra vive em Gaza e num mundo que se fosse justo e bonito ele estaria com os sonhos habituais de qualquer um de nós. Mas ele vive refém, na sua própria terra, cercado, sem a sua casa, o seu emprego, a sua vida. Tudo isso desapareceu, tudo lhe foi tirado, menos a sua voz, a única coisa que lhe permite estar ligado ao mundo, a única coisa que lhe permite sobreviver.

O Suleiman escreve como ninguém, as suas palavras e forma de escrever têm a capacidade de nos levar a viajar pelo lado da vida que se ergue em cada fim, em cada recomeço, em cada dor, em cada esperança.
