Join us on Substack with Megan Willome to discuss her poem "Junco," which was previously published in Solum Journal IV: Doubt.

Megan shares the importance of reading widely and closely (including but not limited to the Cornell ornithology website) as a part of her own writing process. What results in this instance is a beautiful poem in conversation with a mother Junco.

You can listen to Megan read her poem and her reflections on our Substack!

This month's Write This prompt invites you to remember and reflect upon the tales that have shaped you.

As writers, we know that there is no truly original idea. We encourage you to thoughtfully inquire into images that have lingered with you throughout the years. Can they take on new shape and meaning in your own writing?

Read the full preface to this prompt and join in the conversation on our Substack today!

Introducing our upcoming poetry chapbook: The Dust That Made Us by Julia McMullen. In this collection, pain and suffering mingle with the goodness of God as poems consider the lonely desert, sharp-toothed serpents, innocent blood, while stopping to wonder at the glimmer of a dewdrop, jars of oil overflowing, dry bones humming to life.

We cannot wait to share this collection with you! Preorder today through the link in our bio. Coming November 29th.
