I found him waiting in the ruins
of all the stories he had told himself.
The boy who mistook longing for love,
who built temples from promises,
who offered his whole heart
to people still learning how to hold their own.
His hands carried mistakes.
His eyes carried storms.
His chest carried a grief
too heavy for one lifetime.
And so I sat beside him.
Not as a judge.
Not as a savior.
Only as a witness.
I wrapped him in the silence
I once searched for in the world.
I held the trembling parts,
the jealous parts,
the desperate parts,
the beautiful, broken, human parts.
"Rest," I whispered.
"You do not have to earn love anymore."
The mountains did not condemn him.
The stars did not condemn him.
The sacred fire within his heart
did not condemn him.
Everything simply made room.
And for the first time,
he stopped running from himself.
The wanderer leaned into the witness.
The wound leaned into the light.
And somewhere between forgiveness and understanding,
the two became one.
