My beautiful biological daughter turned 12 last week 🥹 So here are 12 fun facts about Naly 🤍

1. As a puppy, she was being sold in a cardboard box outside of a grocery store. A Good Samaritan picked her up and contacted @bulliesandbuddies, and they took her into their care.

2. She was my first foster and obviously my first foster fail. I had been inspired by someone online to foster, and every time I took her to an adoption event I would cry and hope no one adopted her. After the second event, I knew I couldn’t do it anymore. She was mine.

3. Her favorite word is “Grandma.” She LOVES her grandma, and going to Grandma’s house is probably her favorite place in the world.

4. She is scared of basically everything. The wind, the dark, the neighbor’s hose, fire, birthday candles (see last slide), fireworks, loud noises. She looks big and sounds scary, but she is truly just a big baby.

5. She LOVES to cuddle. The closer she can get to you, the better.

6. When she was a puppy, she would sleep between my legs because that was her safe place. Almost 70 pounds and 12 years later, she still sleeps between my legs every single night.

7. Her favorite things are going to Grandma’s house, going for a ride with her head out the window, swimming, playing fetch and lots and lots of treats.

8. She eats better than most people. She has a lot of allergies, so I make all of her food from scratch with human-grade ingredients.

9. She gets overwhelmed by too many dog smells. Sometimes we’ll walk into somewhere and she’ll just freeze and decide she is absolutely not going any further.

10. She has a big scary bark, but little dogs will come at her and she’ll roll right onto her back. So much for being intimidating.

11. Every time I come home, her tail wags so hard it feels like someone is clapping for me. Then she goes and finds a stuffed animal to bring me. There is nothing better than being welcomed home like that every day.

12. One time she darted on the sand towards the water, ate a dead bird, and then at 3am I woke up to explosive diarrhea on my new rug 🫠

the highs were high and the lows had no power.

Best day ever with friends → hurricane → new Airbnb forgot to mention the power outage → no AC → hauled our luggage back out → switched hotels → canceled flights → Waikiki gridlocked → stuck for 3 extra days.

Life said balance, bish.
