A multi-brand store for contemporary Vietnamese fashion and design
(Online store re-opening soon)
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Hey Melbourne

Sớm Space comes to Melbourne for the first time this October.

It’s our biggest curation yet- 20+ Vietnamese brands, emerging and established, streetwear and elevated- brands we believe are shaping Vietnam’s creative scene right now.

Expect new brands alongside returning Sớm favourites, with new season pieces and a few back-by-demand favourites from past collections.

A lot of what’s coming to Melbourne isn’t available on our website. For some brands, this will be their first time stocking with Sớm- and if they sell out at the popup, they may never make it online.

Rakkiu joins the Sớm Space Melbourne pop-up for the first time this October.

Founded in Hanoi in 2020, Rakkiu makes streetwear with a heavier, more utilitarian edge. The clothes are built around weight and structure, with oversized proportions and worn-in finishes that make the pieces feel lived in rather than pristine.

A big part of the brand is how the garments change over time. Fading, and wear are treated as part of the piece, allowing each one to pick up more character the longer it’s worn.

The result is streetwear that feels grounded- made to be lived in, not kept untouched.

Paradise4 Saigon joins Sớm Space this October.

Founded in Saigon, Paradise4Saigon takes its cues from the city itself- a place where old and new, local and global sit beside each other without needing to match.

That same sense of contrast runs through the brand. Paradise looks at Vietnamese culture through the eyes of its generation, pulling from everyday reference that might otherwise be overlooked, then reshaping them into something new. Sometimes nostalgic, sometimes provocative, but always grounded in a recognisably Saigon point of view.

Graphic T-shirts were where much of the brand’s language began: simple forms used as a canvas for typography and cultural references. What looks straightforward at first often carries another meaning for those who recognise where it came from.

Paradise has since expanded into cut-and-sew, building a fuller fashion language while keeping the same instinct at its core - taking the familiar, mixing it freely, and letting contradiction become part of the design.

Saomai Homme joins Sớm Space this October.

Saomai Homme approaches menswear through a personal, contemporary lens.

Rather than relying on familiar cultural symbols, the brand looks to Vietnamese art and personal experience, translating those references into relaxed, functional menswear.

The Wrapped Asymmetric Pants, for example, were inspired by a painting by Vietnamese artist Lê Phổ. The folds of fabric wrapped around women emerging from the water informed the asymmetric construction of the trousers- turning an artistic reference into something practical and wearable.

That balance between romance and utility runs throughout Saomai Homme. Soft draping and generous silhouettes are reworked through functional details and everyday garments.

Materials in Transit

A study of familiar materials and everyday references from Vietnam, transported into Australia.

In our final chapter, we’ve transported some of our favourite Vietnamese pantry staples.

Pictured are boxes of bột- flour and pre-mixed powders used to make familiar foods such as bánh xèo, bánh bèo, bánh bao, bánh bò and bánh kẹp lá dứa.

Found across grocery stores and family kitchens, their brightly printed packaging forms the backdrop for pieces from Rakkiu (@rakkiu.official), Saomai Homme (@saomaihomme) and Paradise4 Saigon (@paradise4saigon).

All pieces available first at the Sớm Melbourne pop-up, 1–4 October.

Sickio joins the Sớm Space Melbourne pop-up for the first time this October.

Sickio is an experimental label that reworks denim and cotton through distressed finishes and raw patchwork. With an industrial, punk-informed aesthetic, each piece feels deliberately imperfect.

Taking shape around 2020, SICKIO began through ongoing experimentation with existing garments and reclaimed materials. Pieces are taken apart and reconstructed using hand-stitching, and surface treatments, drawing influence from military clothing and rebellious subcultures.

Rather than concealing the history of its materials, Sickio makes it visible. Worn fragments, exposed repairs, uneven details and traces of use become part of each garment. Even when the same silhouette is repeated, differences in the materials and construction give every piece its own identity.

The Upcycled Box Tee, for example, is constructed from three T-shirts stitched together and transformed into something entirely new-reflecting Sickio’s approach to making clothing that is complex in construction, raw in finish and deliberately individual.

Smooch joins the Sớm Space Melbourne pop-up for the first time this October.

Established in 2024 in Saigon, Smooch is known for elevated basics built to sculpt and hold their shape. A precise fit, quality fabric, and designs made to outlast a trend cycle. Each piece is made by a family-owned manufacturer in Vietnam and hand-packed by the Smooch studio team.

ACCOX joins the Sớm Space Melbourne pop-up for the first time this October.

Founded in Vietnam in 2021, ACCOX builds a world somewhere between techwear and dystopian fiction- treating clothing as a meeting point between physical form and virtual identity. Across the label, familiar garments are reconstructed through technical detailing, asymmetric lines and silhouettes that feel almost pulled from a character screen.

For their latest collection “Data Human”, that language turns directly to game interfaces and character design. Fitted tops and technical separates are reworked through ACCOX’s approach to structure and form, with the collection imagining how fictional characters might move from a digital environment into everyday life.
The result sits somewhere between wearable and otherworldly- recognisable pieces distorted just enough to feel like they belong to another version of the present.
