If you’re interested in tech, AI, career growth, or building opportunities in the UAE and GCC, join me for Somalis in Tech on September 26 in Dubai.

We’ll be talking about how to stand out in today’s job market, build a stronger CV and portfolio, connect with the right people, and make smarter career moves.

We’ll also get into where tech is heading, which skills are becoming more valuable, and practical ways you can use AI in your work and career.

I’ll be sharing lessons from my own journey from mechanical engineering and project management to becoming one of the youngest Lead DevOps Engineers in the UK, and now working in MLOps with startups in Dubai.

Whether you’re a student, early in your career, already working in tech, or simply trying to figure out your next move, come with your questions and connect with others building in the space. Comment “ticket” to get a link to register. by @somalisintech

A good community starts with people choosing to show up and Seattle was exactly that! 🌲

Our first gathering in the PNW brought together people from across the region for an evening of conversation, new connections and ideas about what Somalis in Tech could become here, with the night serving as a small spark for more meetups, collaborations and a stronger community here.

Thank you to everyone who came through and helped make the first one feel special.

See you at the next one

A special shoutout to @salaaxm1 for these great shots!

There was a moment last night where the courts got loud, everybody was laughing, and nobody was looking at their phone. That’s the whole thing right there.

We’re building a third space for young Somali professionals — somewhere to connect, build, and just be together outside of work and home. Tonight it looked like paddle. Next time it’ll look like something else.

If you were here, you know. If you weren’t — there’s always a seat waiting. 🎾

Thank you to @somalisintech for cohosting this with us!

Seattle already has Jimothy, so it felt only right that we brought Jama along

With our Somalis in tech meet-up happening this Friday 28th, consider this his unofficial introduction to the PNW.

If you’re around Seattle and have been meaning to meet more people in the community, come through.

Jama will see you there. Apparently. by @somalisintech
