Mainly restaurants, pubs, local experiences and travel 🙂‍↕️ collabs: DM x

Soup szn is here and I’m a fiend for a biiiig bowl of ramen 🍜

@ikigairamenuk on South Bridge, Edinburgh has been on my list for ages, so I was excited to be invited down!

The menu is small but well formed, and we were in and out within 45 minutes, which makes it ideal for a quick bite in Edinburgh’s Old Town.

I love trying new spots but some places are too good to visit once and these are a handful of my ride or dies ✨

@thefinchedin always have fantastic collabs running. This was @jamiesbackyardslice and I can confirm it was unbelievably good pizza. We’ve also enjoyed @dumpling.mama.uk & @smoked_tamago & @edinburgh_shisanyama here. Theyve even had an @ardfern_edinburgh pop up. Sick wee spot.

Very blessed that this is our local 🥹

@barryfishrestaurant is my go to recommendation for a nice occasion but it’s also a perfect neighbourhood restaurant. I’ve been quite a few times (and I’m well overdue a trip!) and I’ve never been disappointed. @chefbarrybryson is a very talented man. 🤌🏼

Realised I actually do like oysters at one of my visits here (gentle encouragement from the french queen that is @manon.marrum) which has spurred a very expensive new hobby. x

@vesselbarspilot is really underrated imo. Good beer on tap from pilot, stunnin cocktails and a genuinely incredible food menu. This whipped feta dip would be on my last meal menu. 🫕

@thegildedsaloon serving up some of the best Sunday roasts in Edinburgh and I’m sure it’s like £21??? If this was in Leith, I’d literally be there every week. Jadoreeee a little granny plate too! @chefjoshrich & @tomasgormley have turned a once grimy dance club into a cosy genuinely fantastic pub. 🙂‍↕️

@noblesbellfield I REALLY love pub food and I REALLY love steak tartare. I really love pubs who do it both. Yes to chefs like @hughbrown cooking up deliciousness like this in unassuming places 👏

@ardfern_edinburgh I mean, do I really need to say anything about this diva? She’s an all rounder (wine bar, restaurant, sexy cool cafe) and an absolute must visit. Also does a banging Sunday roast but good luck getting a reso 🤪

I found out this week that @mootzgeneralstore now deliver to leith and that’s quite dangerous for me and my bank account. Great for my overall happiness though.

@eatingandwaitingtoeat put me onto these guys and I’m very glad they did. The classic Mootz with hot honey is my go to but they’re all bloody class. 🥪

Life over the last few weeks has been a bit of a rollercoaster. Here’s a dog on a boat in Ireland to kick things off ⛴️

@misotheromanianrescue keeping me company whilst I’ve been sick as a DOG this week 🤧

First visit to @babaedinburgh and obviously it was basically all dips 🫓

Lowkey obsessed with this guy on the @malones_leith dog wall (still waiting for miso to be added - hint hint) 👀

@thestrathmorebar really hope I win my height in scampi fries 🦐

Playing judgemental social commentary Guess Who at @thefinchedin - dream date 🤷🏼‍♀️

@thespence_edinburgh wish I had that bowl of frogs rn 🐸

Rly happy girl dressed like a wee Tory to fit in at Gleneagles. Showing my true social class by how excited I get by leftovers 🤪

wee pigeon sculptures on the walk to work make me real happy. 🐦

@edinburgh_cocktailweek was a hoot. Delicious mango margarita from @ox_184 🥭

@gulpramen, I fucking love you 🥰

@rowanramage + @tennentslager = happy girls 👧🏽

cute lil guy at @sloelanebakery 👅

@ailsa.theweekitchen Sunday morning KP shift meant an absolute feast of Korean food as payment 🙂‍↕️ we’ve taken part in one of Ailsa’s classes before and we genuinely loved it. Great gift idea for your friend who loves to cook (or eat…) 👩‍🍳

I literally walked out the flat and went “woooowww” when I saw this sky 🌅

Miso side-eyeing my cheesy crossiant from ASTA. This place is so funny. Genuinely opens like 2 days a week, sometimes less. Doesn’t have a sign up, doesn’t have a website or an IG and it does some of the best pastries in Edinburgh. And I eat that shit up. 👏

@gemma.atthestudio giving me the vampy nails of my dreams. 🧛‍♀️

I looooove how cute and whimsical this is. 🌻🥀🌼 by @somebodyfeedamz

@tennentslager new stout is TASTY. Big fan. It’s more coffee forward than Guinness and imo it’s more like a beamish but a little lighter in a way??? I’m no expert but I like her.

Found at @malones_leith after weeks (okay like a week) of waiting for it to drop in leith 🤪

Have you tried it yet? 🤌🏼 by @somebodyfeedamz

@peraturkishbbq is my new go to for a BYOB dinner in Edinburgh 🤌🏼

Turkish food made for sharing, menu prices that don’t break the bank and a room that gets louder and happier as the night goes on.

Go for: catch ups with your friends, birthdays, group dinners, or any night you want to bring your good bottle and not pay restaurant markup.

Book ahead if you’re a big group!!! She’s v small and it was packed on Saturday by 6.30pm.

Ps I have a cold hence why I sound like a wee guy x

Edinburgh’s best ramen is BACK and boy oh boy is it good 🍜

When the OG Gulp closed and became Mirin (which is also brilliant, to be clear), I properly grieved. So standing in the torrential rain on Thursday for 20 minutes was a small price. It was everything I wanted it to be and then some.

Gulp, I’ve missed u - thank u for coming back x

An autumn evening at @thecottageedinburgh 🍂

The Cottage is a special place, and I loved bringing @marionmordelles here for her first visit this weekend. I love places that do season menus, as you can go over and over again and have a different experience.

The current menu eases you into the colder months gently, paired with beautiful, unique European wines. This really is the spot to indulge.

95pp feast at @gleneaglestownhouse / @thespence_edinburgh: is it actually worth it? 👀

Honest answer? Yes, but as a treat, and only if you’ve got a big appetite!

It’s the best of both worlds: an amazing buffet AND a Sunday roast. Then there’s the dessert room, which makes you feel like a little kid again 🍬🍬🍬

Top tip: book well in advance on their website, it fills up fast.

Have you been, or are you tempted? Tell me below, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Save this for your next big occasion 📌

big fan of @umiedinburgh and I think you should be too. 🍣

Alongside their amazing dinner menu, they also has some amazing to-go boxes for busy office lunches up in the West End.

Everything is high quality and really delicious and the beautiful dining room is sure to impress your friends (or date hehe). 🌸

Forever changed after this trip to Cork & the Beara Peninsula ✨

Such a beautiful part of the world and so much to explore, see and do! We were just at the end of the season so things felt calm and peaceful, exactly what I needed.

Cork City is so magnetic and with towns like Kinsale and Glengarriff only a short drive away, you’re spoiled for beautiful views, countryside drives and great food.

I’d love to go back and see more along the Wild Atlantic Way, a 2500km winding journey through Ireland’s gorgeous countryside 🇮🇪

ad | Edinburgh seems to be getting loads of new Vietnamese restaurants and I’m buzzing! Fresh, nourishing and filling.

What we ordered at @nem.edinb :

🌿 Pork wrapped in betel leaf (peppery, herbaceous, a bit like rocket)
🦐 Prawn summer roll & veggie spring roll (summer rolls were fab, the spring rolls were kinda boring)
🥮 Chung cake (a standout for texture and flavour)
🍜 Pho (perfectly clear broth, proper warming flavours)
🦆 Crispy duck (great taste, but slightly dry in places)

Have you been? Tell me your fave Vietnamese spot in Edinburgh 👇

Brunch in Kinsale: OHK Cafe ☕️

Cute interiors and seriously good food at OHK Cafe, found during a few days holiday in Cork. We visited Kinsale and this spot came highly recommended, for good reason. Set in the families old pub, it has such great character. 🌿

🍳 Turkish egg flatbread
🍔 Breakfast smash burger
