#Romanzo #A cena con l'assassino, di alexandra Benedict. Il libro è una piacevole (per così dire) sorpresa: un pò giallo (lo sapete che in realtà si chiamano whodunit?), un pò mystery, un pò gotico, racconta della protagonista, Lily, che torna nella classica inquietante ed enorme villa di famiglia sperduta nella campagna e poi isolata da una tormenta di neve. lily ha ricevuto una lettera in cui le viene detto che se torna a casa scoprirà la verità sulla morte della madre, ma prima dovrà superare il christmas game del titolo originale, una tradizione di famiglia. stavolta però c'è la stessa villa in palio e i personaggi iniziano a morire. ulteriore pregio, la Newton Compton lo ha messo in vendita a soli 3,90 euro, per cui, andate a scoprirlo, merita! ah, ignorate tutta la parte sugli indovinelli di cui l'autrice parla all'inizio, non servono a nulla a fini della trama. by @somebodyto2

#novel #The Christmas Murder Game by Alexandra Benedict is a good surprise: a little bit whodunit, a little bit mystery, a little bit gothic, it's the story of lily who got a tragic past and goes back to the family mansion in the middle of nowhere and during a snowstorm, following a letter where someone told she will find the truth about her mother's death. but there's the game of the title she have to go through, with the mansion as the ultimate prize. and people start dying. i admit i solved part of the whodunit but the was more than meets the eye. alexandra benedict is a great writer, too bad she announced her retiring from writing (you can read the statement on Goodreads) but you can completely put aside the riddles she talk about before the beginning, they are irrelevant to the plot and most likely made her writing way too complicated for no reason. discover it! by @somebodyto2
