This is Austin with @natachajolene sharing some kind words about my DJ style.

I caught this interaction with my new 360 camera and long-life battery that was still running during cleanup.

I usually see the results of my DJing, but people rarely recognize how I actually DJ. Austin is a musician and a creative. He understands the creative path of an artist.

For the record, this wedding was all about the details 🤩

✨Records were woven throughout the decor.
✨Table names paid tribute to favorite albums.
✨Hand-embroidered napkins by the sister of the bride added a personal touch.
✨While vintage digital cameras and retro-inspired colors brought a sense of nostalgia to the entire celebration.

But what I loved most wasn't any single detail, it was how every element reflected who they are. Nothing felt chosen because it was trendy. Every piece had meaning, a memory, or a connection to their relationship.The best wedding design isn't about adding more details. It's about choosing details that tell your story🥰

This is a post about DJing, song selection, and mixing.

For me, as a DJ, this is the reaction I dream of. Everyone connected on the same wavelength. No planned choreography, but things just happens.

A Groomsman recognizes the Fall Out Boy track from the drums and prepares.

Other guests are in tune.

I’d been looping the drums for way more than your standard mix, and another guest somehow counts the guitar riff in perfectly. (The radio version has one bar of drums. I looped 16)

Is “Unwritten” as good as it could be, or could a remix make it hit a little harder? Depends on the dance floor vibe.

At 8:30 pm, we’d probably play the original. At 9:30 pm, the dance floor is in a different place. If we’ve earned the trust of the guests, songs like this remix move into the “what will happen if I play this one” category.

Lots of variables play into the decision—way too many to list. Most important: Does it fit within our client’s musical aesthetic?
