Have you ever wanted to try boxing or get into combat sports, but felt like it was too intimidating ?

Take this as your reminder that everyone has to start somewhere 🫡

I still have a LOOONG way to go and so much to learn, but I’m genuinely proud of myself for starting. A couple months ago, I didn’t even know what a jab or cross was. Now I’m showing up, learning, getting my ass kicked a little, and loving every second of it.

Boxing has genuinely changed my life for the better, both physically and mentally. It’s taught me discipline, confidence, patience, and that being a beginner isn’t something to be embarrassed about.

You don’t have to be good to start. You just have to start 🤍

Here’s to being a little braver than you were yesterday.

New York is funny like that. One year you’re dragging yourself home half-dead, convinced the city can smell your fear. The next, you’re in bed at midnight with Unchained Melody floating through the house, next to the person who helped carry you through some of the most challenging moments of your life, realizing you somehow made it to the other side.

Not cleanly, of course. Nothing worth anything ever happens cleanly here.

We built this life through stress, exhaustion, fights with ourselves, stupid mistakes, long conversations at ungodly hours, and the decision to keep loving each other anyway. He showed up for me constantly. My family and friends did too, with a kind of generosity that still floors me when I think about it too long.

There’s no big revelation here. No inspirational ending. Just the strange luxury of finally feeling at home in your own life. The fridge full. The quiet outside the window. Someone you love half-asleep beside you, while a song you used to listen to alone turns the house into a Wong Kar-wai scene for five minutes.

I spent a long time surviving. This is different.
No reservations.
